Man, being Connor Cruise must be the awesomest awesome time in the world. First of all, your dad is Tom Cruise, who clearly has it together, and your mom is Nicole Kidman, who left to go live in Australia, so hey, free trips to Australia! You've been shipped off to Scientology boarding school in Oregon, which is probably great because you don't have to read or do math or any of that boring stuff. And you've already chosen the rewarding and challenging career path of DJ'ing! What better way to celebrate than by having an MTV-worthy super sweet birthday bash at Hyde? No, not that Hyde, the one in the Staples Center, on Clippers game night! SWAGGGGG. More»

Stop scoffing, you snobs—with Brent and Jen and Samantha Ronson all there tonight, it's going to be just like the golden era of Hyde circa 2006 (?). At least that seems to be the goal. After severing their business partnership from him in 2009, we were surprised to learn Brent Bolthouse and Jen Rosero are back on  team SBE for the reopening of Hyde. Once the toughest door and hottest late-night spot in L.A., the forlorn club had succumbed to dubstep and bedazzled Amatuer Night MVPs before Sam Nazarian's group took Hyde off of life support in February for a much needed time-out from L.A.'s mercurial nightlife scene. OMG you guys, remember Hyde?! Did you know it still exists? A little birdie told us the long forlorn SBE nightclub you probably assumed went the way of the dinosaurs, like, three years ago will close soon to undergo what's sounding like a major renovation. Guess someone over at the Sam Nazarian camp caved and decided to put the 5-year-old former hotspot out of its misery. More»

At a cozy nook in Noah's Bagel Shop on Larchmont, DJ Excel and Rick Rude, two East-Coast-to-West-Coast DJ transplants, settle in. DJ Excel (a Philly native) and Rick Rude (a Bostonian) had built reputations as major deck masters back East, so their Cali migration seems something of a conundrum. More»

[Photo via Eater] The good folks at Eater have reported that Sam Nazarian's new Hollywood hotel has been dubbed The Redbury.  Signage of the latest endeavor for the hospitality and nightlife impresario has just been revealed on the big, red Vine St. building, giving us a potential taste of the hotel's aesthetic. Based on the name and logo, it looks like SBE might be continuing the move towards its concept of preppy. More»
