East coast transplants, caffeine tweakers and those who like their breakfast with rainbow sprinkles all have reason to rejoice, as the long awaited Pacific expansion of Dunkin' Donuts has finally proven to be more than a rumor with this week's confirmation that the first Southern California (anywhere in California, for that matter) Dunkin' Donuts is currently recruiting workers and will be opening soon. But don't call your endocrinologist just yet; since this particular DD is to be located at Camp Pendleton, you're gonna need military clearance to get at those sweet treats. More»

The internet is ablaze today with rumors that east coast mega-franchise Dunkin' Donuts may finally be bringing their coffee-for-the-common-man routine to Southern California, as part of a planned major expansion. And though you've probably heard at least one east coaster speak in orgasmic tones about "Dunkie's", you may be surprised to find that opinions are more sharply divided among transplants than it might initially seem. [Elvis photo via] There's perhaps no greater summer-specific disagreement than the desire to maintain your perfect beach body versus the desire to plunge face-first into a juicy, delicious hamburger. Face it, the perfect summer moment more often than not includes burgers (and beer, but that's a different list), and this is a burger town. But rather than keep it simple and tell you to go to Father's Office, In-N-Out, or Umami (all of which deserve every bit of praise they get), we thought we'd branch out a bit. So here, in no order, are five other places in L.A. to get a fantastic hamburger, today: More»

Wow. I don't even know if it was the semi-gloomy-but-pretty-nice weather, the Gay Pride, the Mavericks beating the MoHeatos, or just some kind of ancient druid equinox that makes everyone crazy, but gosh, did we as a city ever drink this weekend. It seemed like everywhere I went, I was stumbling into someone falling down on the street, puking in the bushes, or banging on the doors of In-N-Out at 4 am as if the guy who makes the shakes was sleeping in the back, just waiting for his fans to arrive. My proof this weekend is likely a haze for a bunch of Angelenos? These photos of a crowd in the process of getting blurry Friday night at Roxbury to kick-off the weekend. More»

via la.guestofaguest.com: The royal newlyweds are headed to California in July. If they plan to make a stop in LA, we've got them covered with the 10 must-visit places including In-N-Out and the Playboy Mansion.  They won't go to any of them, but just in case... MORE>>>

Before I begin, I need you to imagine Bruce Springstein's "Born In The USA" playing in the background as you read this, k? Indeed the royal newlyweds are scheduled to descend on California for three days in July for their first official trip to the country during their summer tour, and surely a pit-stop in L.A. is in order. Prince William and Princess Kate's time here is limited so they'll need to spend it wisely, which means they'll require the assistance of a local to show them the way. They already asked me if I'd be their tour guide, but I had to decline as I have plans to lounge by a pool somewhere that day. I feel kind of guilty about it and thought I should throw them a bone.  So, William and Kate, I've prepared this list of 10 must-visit places to hit while here if you want the ultimate L.A. experience, which I know you don't since you probably won't go to any of them. But still, here they are, just in case you feel like living dangerously for a minute. More»

Is Goth the new hipster? Why do smart men date dumb girls? And, why do LA restaurants all have secret menus? Plus, who were the pioneers of downtown NYC in the 70s? Will Denton loose his bet to Sorgatz? Would Jack Dorsey be a good mayor? These are just some of the questions we asked today.... More»

This past April Fool's Day, when College Humor put "Coming Soon: In-N-Out" signs all over the city, they created a furor. (Yes. A furor.) Learning that this was just a prank was a bitter pill to swallow, but today, we are vindicated. Because you guys, there's secretly been an In-N-Out in Manhattan this whole time! More»

People constantly complain about Manhattan becoming Suburban as if it's a bad thing. Sure, we don't want our streets to look like every other street in America, and it's nice to have unique stores. But there are a few chains that would greatly enhance the quality of life in our fair city. More»
