Nic Rad's bemused explanation of Internet Week is probably the best description of the thing we've ever come across.
In our opinion, Internet Week is sort of like that annual Family Reunion, in the sense that as it approaches every year we roll our eyes exaggeratedly and half-dread it, but then we go and drink the kool-aid and eat the hamburgers and embrace the fact that we're part of this dorky, embarrassing, madcap world.
It's gonna be one hell of a week...

Internet Week's still going on?! You betcha it is. These dorks have years of partying to catch up on- am I right? Last night, after the "popular nerds" -um how's that for a paradox, gathered to watch hear Their Omnipotent Leader Barry Diller speak at the Rockefeller center, they moved onwards down to Webster Hall to mingle with the plebs (Gawker commenters and the likes), at DIGG's Diggnation party. (MC HAMMER CAME!) From here they moved on to M2 for Thrillist's party, or maybe Gawker's rooftop soiree. Whatever order they chose to make them in, they were sure to see this guy running around at all three parties.

Last night, YouTube opened Internet Week New York with an industry-heavy but light hearted par-tay at the Puck Building. With groovy red lighting, a video mash-up dj and flashing ice cubes in the specialty drinks; those internetters spared no detail. Ivanka Trump, Rodger Berman (Mr. Rachel Zoe) and many a techie joined the revelry, also a celebration of YouTube's new partnership with the Week-ending Webby Awards. The leader in online video is bringing the "internet's highest honor" to viewers as never before. Launching a "best-in-class" interactive Webby channel, YouTube users can engage with winning content, footage and events.
