On Friday night, the Motiso Group, an organization dedicated to bettering women- and minority-owned businesses, hosted a posh fundraiser at Georgetown's exclusive L2 lounge. The event featured decadent hors d'oeuvres, desserts (including two birthday cakes!), door prizes, silent auction, a DJ, and drink specials. The grand finale was the luxury raffle--one guest went home with a new iPad and a 7-night resort vacation for two. More»

If you follow The Cobrasnake's adventures, which generally consist of touring with Steve Aoki and partying with Katy Perry, you'd know that he doesn't get out of bed in the morning (or whenever he gets out of bed) for anything less than an A-List rager. So on first glance, an unofficial Apple fan convention in San Francisco wouldn't seem like a slam-dunk option. Then again, this is Macworld, the biggest unofficial event of its kind, and the lineup of bands and DJ's is probably the best one going in SF this week, so maybe it makes more sense than we realize. I wish I could say I heard the news of Steve Jobs' passing from my iPhone, but I actually heard it on the radio on my drive after the Brooks Brothers opening party. I did immediately tweet a sorrowful tweet from my iPhone, and later, I used my iPad2 to surf the Web for Capital Chatter bites before going to sleep.
