For those of us who couldn’t make it to Paris Fashion Week, those who could wanted to torture us a little more by throwing a lavish bash entitled “New York, New York” at the Le Regine, in honor of our great city, and made sure to party into the wee hours of the night. The artist debuted his third solo exhibit, Alteration: New Works on Paper, Thursday night in Soho where he presented fashion and art as one with a collection featuring over 40 works of garment designs and sculptures all made of paper. There’s nothing better than escaping the city streets come summertime for rooftop fun in the sun and the weather could not have been more perfect Tuesday night for jewelry designer David Yurman’s annual Summer Rooftop Celebration in Tribeca. The guest list included a who’s who from the New York City social, fashion, media, and arts scene including Ben Watts, Derek Blasberg, Arlenis Sosa, Kelly Killoren Bensimon, Byrdie Bell, Lyle Maltz, Kristian Laliberte, Couri Haye, Jared Clark, Robert Fowler, Nick Dietz, Jeremy Kost, Jason Binn, and the party’s true VIPs, David’s family wife Sybil, son Evan, and granddaughter Cody. Last night we went to the chic fun and funky House of Campari at 54 Crosby Street to check out Defining a Moment: 25 New York Artists – an exhibit sponsored by the Campari Contemporary Art Program. Last night was opening night hosted by Paper Magazine and the Guggenheim’s Young Collectors Council with a special (and butt kicking) performance by the XYZ Affair. As you might have guessed, Campari WAS served at this event.

Its one thing to toast to an artist’s success with a glass of Campari, but it’s even better when you realize Campari is responsible for fostering the success of that artist through one of their various platforms to help emerging artists.
