The Internet’s biggest, wittiest, and nerdiest stars took over Cipriani’s on Wall St. last night, and it wasn’t some kind of coup, just the Oscars of the Web aka the 13th Annual Webby Awards. Don’t think you’re alone in wondering about the event’s location. Awards MC, SNL’s Seth Meyers, poked fun at the fancy venue: “Nothing says ingenuity and forward thinking like Wall Street,” he joked in the opening monologue. “Were there no rooms available in Detroit?” And, to balance out the geek factor, a bunch of supermodels showed up, including new momma Alessandra Ambrosio. • Rumor has it Apple is in negotiation to buy Twitter. According to reports, Twitter’s investors turned down a $500 million offer from Facebook, but Apple’s price hovers around $700 million — a figure that may just be paid in cash.
