Last night, Tommy Hilfiger and The Cinema Society threw a party for the new movie “Precious” at the Crosby Street Hotel. This indie flick about an illiterate, overweight Harlem woman certainly has an unexpected fanbase in the hearts of New York Cities rich and fashionable elite. The Cinema Society and MCM hosted Ali Larter, Olivia Palermo, Johannes Huebl, Lydia Hearst, Maggie Rizer, Kelly Bensimon, Tinsley Mortimer, Helen Schifter, Nigel Barker, Rachel Roy, Beyonce, Kim Kardashian, Rocco DiSpirito, Russell Simmons, Christian Siriano, Christine Lahti, Jerry O’Connell, Chris Benz and Narciso Rodriguez; on hand to check out Ms. Larter’s performance, where she gets bat shit crazy on Beyonce. It wasn’t Tribeca, but it was quite the to-do.

The Cinema Society and Links of London hosted a screening of Sienna Miller and Peter Saarsgard’s new movie, “The Mysteries of Pittsburgh“, Tuesday night at the Landmark Sunshine Theater, followed by an afterparty at Cooper Square Hotel. The movie garnered attention and controversy during filming in 2006, when Miller complained to Rolling Stone Magazine, referring to the movie’s title city as “Shittsburgh.” More»
