Yesterday, Kate and Andy Spade hosted an opening reception for Martha Stewart Weddings editorial director Darcy Miller Nussbaum’s “Family” show. Cynthia Rowley, Kelly Bensimon, Dylan Lauren and the homemaker royalty herself, Martha Stewart, headed to Mr. Spade’s Great Jones Street store for the invitation only event, where women in wedding dresses walked among collected items documenting the creative’s memories of kin. The New York Academy of Art held their Tribeca Ball last night, a benefit for the non-profit educational and cultural institution. Guests invited to tour the Academy’s studios and classrooms included one of the evening’s honorary guests Liev Schreiber, as well as President Bill Clinton, Liam McMullan, Alec Wek, Beatrix Ost, Eileen Guggenheim, Isabel Wilkinson, Nicole Miller, Ludwig Kuttner, Kate Spade, Jason Wu, and Justin Timberlake who just puchased a Tribeca loft with girlfriend Jessica Biel.

The following story reminding me so much of the activity I took part in this past Saturday at Kelly Bensimon’s daughter’s birthday party in East Hampton.  There, I witnessed a dozen kids in their brightest whites having so much fun demolishing them with paint at the Jackson Pollack-themed affair:
