Last night, the hottest room in the city played host to its hottest guests. The Boom Boom Room was booming last night. It was (yet another) celebration of the DVD release of VALENTINO: The Last Emperor, but let’s be honest, it was really just a chance to dance next to Madonna. Last night Le Fooding held a preview dinner at the Vinegar Hill House in Brooklyn. Enjoying the fall evening weather, diners including Daniel Boulud, David Chang, Katie Lee (Joel?) and Waris Ahluwalia delighted in some lighthearted whimsy, donning balloon hats at they tasted octopus, tarte flambe, greens and an entree choice of country chop or trout. Attack Of The TV Stars For Cinema Society’s Private Screening Of “The Invention Of Lying” At The Tribeca Grand

The Cinema Society hosted a private screening of the film The Invention of Lying co-directed by Ricky Gervais and Matthew Robinson Wednesday night and while the flick’s stars seemed to have other things to do, there were plenty of television stars in attendance to make up for it, including 90s golden couple (and TV Star royalty as far as we’re concerned) Zach Morris and Kelly Kapowski a.k.a. The Philharmonic Is Back, And So Is A Ready To Mingle Billy Joel

Last night, the new era of Alan Gilbert officially began as the New York Philharmonic held their opening night gala concert. Meryl Streep and Alec Baldwin showed in black tie, the latter also a host for the group’s weekly national radio broadcasts. Also present was Billy Joel, ready to hit the town and leave the baggage of his split with Katie Lee back in summer, whenever that was. The singer was all smiles as he and Baldwin laughed and visited on the red carpet, before heading in to see the show. A dramatic performance, the evening also marked a world premiere commission by Composer-in-Residence Magnus Lindberg. The World Premiere Of Julie & Julia At The Ziegfeld Theater

Last night, the world premiere of Columbia Picture’s Julie And Julia took place at the Ziegfeld Theater. The movie is based on the real life story of Julie Powell (who was in attendance) who cooked her way through Julia Child’s cookbook and (what else?) blogged about it.The wonderful Meryl Streep and Amy Adams were present.The premier also brought outc hefs– Martha Stewart, Rachel Ray as well as fashion/art ladies like Rachel Roy, Yoko Ono, Jazmine Gonzales.

New York City Fashionistas Put On Their Burberry For Creative Director Christopher Bailey

Barney’s New York through a cocktail party Monday night in honor of British designer and Burberry’s Creative Director, Christopher Baily, who stopped in for a few hours before heading back over the pond. Baily chatted about his inspirations for the Spring line and mingled with guests some of which suited up in their favorite Burberry-wear. Guests included Gossip Girl-er bad boy Ed Westwick, Derek Blasberg, Amy Sacco, Katie Lee Joel, Celerie Kemble, Jamie Burke, Simon Doonan, Byrdie Bell, Dani Stahl, Emma Snowdon-Jones, Devorah Rose, and Mary-Kate Olsen with her artist boyfriend Nate Lowman who also took over the turn tables keeping the room full of fashionistas happy.
