On Friday, Ryan McGinness held the opening reception for his exhibit, Women: Blacklight Paintings and Sculptures. The exhibition was creatively broken up into two parts: Uptown, Gering & Lopez Gallery will be showing McGiness' sketches and drawings, and Downtown, the Charles Bank Gallery will be showing the finished fluorescent black-light paintings and sculptures. Last night at Highline Stages, Chanel sponsored the 11th anniversary of RxArt, a nonprofit organization whose mission it is to improve healthcare facilities by displaying original pieces of fine art in patients' rooms, exam rooms, etc., to boost both their morale and creativity. Hosts included Jen Brill, Poppy Delevingne, Leigh Lezark, Caroline Sieber, and Vanessa Traina. More»
