Last night celebrities and guests gathered at the Hammerstein Ballroom for the Keep A Child Alive's 8th Annual Black Ball. Alicia Keys, a co-founder of the foundation, performed for guests and even hosted an impromptu auction of 2 18-karat gold bracelets she was wearing - each sold for $14,000. The Zelda Kaplan Birthday Benefit occurred last night at Upper East Side's Orsay. In addition to celebrating the her 94th birthday, the benefit raised money for the organization Keep a Child Alive, which provides support for those affected by HIV/AIDS in Africa and India. New York's club kids united with Heatherette's Richie Rich in attendance. More»

Last night at the Hammerstein Ballroom, stars took to the red carpet to support Keep A Child Alive at their annual Black Ball fundraiser. The Keep A Child Alive foundation provides medical care and support to children and their families affected by the HIV/AIDS pandemic, and the organization's staff members include co-founder Alicia Keys, Padma Lakshmi, and Iman. This year the glamorous event specially honored activists Simon Fuller, Jackie Branfield, and Queen Latifah for their pioneering work in AIDS research and advocacy.
