As opposed to say, New York Fashion Week which showcases collections from the top designers and fashion houses around the world, it's no secret L.A. Fashion Week is nowhere in the same league, and has instead become a celebration of our local fashion culture. Last night, Fashion Group International Los Angeles got a head-start on the LAFW festivities with the Meet The Designer & The Muse event where some of the town's most renowned designers, fashion figures and their muses stepped out for the cause. Holiday weekends are great, but there's a flipside: they also ramp up the pressure on you to do something awesome and have the kind of great time that prompts your co-workers reevaluate their lives as they sob gently into their Tuesday morning coffee.
