[All photos by Clint Spaulding for PMc]. Louis Vuitton and Lucy Liu teamed up with UNICEF for the 25th annual UNICEF Snowflake Lighting on 5th Avenue. Hanging above the intersection of 57th Street and 5th Avenue, the snowflake (at 23×28feet, and with 16,000 Baccarat crystals) is an iconic holiday fixture. More»

Maggie Gyllenhaal, Erin Lucas, Serena Williams Amy Sacco, Tim Morehouse, models Arlenis Sosa and Erin Heatherton, Scott Buccheit, Lady Victoria Hervey, Melissa Berkelhammer, and Paul Johnson-Calderon (who hopefully kept his paws off the merchandise and his temper in check…) were among the fashionable crowd that joined Louis Vuitton CEO Daniel Lalonde for the launch of the 2010 Louis Vuitton Cruise Collection. The event took place at Saks Fifth Avenue, where the Louis Vuitton department was decked out with LV topiary, dangling ribbons, crystals, and of course, the collection’s trunks and bags. In probably what was one of the coolest events ever, science and fashion joined forces last night at the Museum of Natural History in NYC as Louis Vuitton celebrated the 40th anniversary of the first lunar landing. Former astronauts Buzz Aldrin and Jim Lovell (only 24 people have walked on the moon) were joined by Daniel Lalonde, President and CEO of Louis Vuitton and a ton of celebrities, philanthropists, scientists, and other to mark the historic occasion. Higlights included Lois Aldrin’s space-age accessories and Aldrin posing with Gossip Girl’s Jessica Szohr for a photo-op. And if that doesn’t impress you, check out some pics from the event…

Last night found me uptown, downtown, midtown…basically all over town. I started the night uptown at the Museum of Natural History for the Louis Vuitton party to celebrate the 40th anniversary of Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin’s lunar landing. More»
[Buzz Aldrin and Jim Lovell...plus their signatures! Photos by CLINT SPAULDING for PMc] The Buzz: Louis Vuitton journeys to the moon (could you imagine?!)–well…that’s unfortunately not the case, but they did host the REAL Buzz Aldrin’s book signing at their Maison 5th Avenue mecca store. Jim Lovell also graced us with his presence,
Louis Vuitton Life Capsule. With today marking the 40th anniversary of Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin’s lunar landing, Louis Vuitton decided to commemorate the occasion by creating a customized Life Capsule for the spectacular Apollo 11 exhibition. Dubbed Malle Mars, the bullet-shaped metallic trunk, adorned with LV’s Monogram design, swings up to reveal necessities for a flight of fancy to Mars: More»
[Actress Mirando Otto opens the Louis Vuitton store in Sydney, Australia. All photos by Getty.] Looks like Sydney is the place to be. Last week Sacha Baron Cohen (as Bruno) stopped by to promote his newest movie, and today the brand new Louis Vuitton store opened its doors in Bondi. Flanked by LV employees and models, Australian actress Miranda Otto cut the brown ribbon, officially opening the luxury store. Aussie socialites, fashionistas, and television personalities, including Pip Edwards, Erin McNaught, and Kerri Anne Kennerly were also on hand. More»
[Picture via WWD] “From Blogs to Twitter Fashion World Rushes to Tap Into Social Media” read WWD’s cover this morning. Usually one of my top sources for fashion news, I was gravely disappointed to see that their leading story was something anyone with a laptop, an email address, and who knows how to type a sentence in 140 characters or less has known for quite some time. They did, however, further break down what companies are succeeding from entering the blogosphere instead of just informing us on fun facts More»
[Robert Verdi and Amy Bergenfeld. All photos by NEIL RASMUS for PMc] Yesterday some of NYC’s finest fashionistas (and fashionistos?) got to take a sneak peek at the Louis Vuitton Cruise 2010 Collection. The preview was held atop the penthouse at 463 West Street. The woman’s collection (by Marc Jacobs) was filled with ‘French coquette’ type pieces and the men’s (by Paul Helbers) had a functional streetwear type of feel while remaining sleek and containing some suits. [Amy Erbesfeld, Heather Vandenberghe, Meg Sharp. All photos by BILLY FARRELL for PMc.] Tuesday night Louis Vuitton hosted a Summer Cocktail Party in honor of friends of the fashion house at their sleek Soho store. Guests chatted and sipped on champagne or summer cocktails as DJs Jus Ske and Sinatra played. Friends of L.V. in attendance included Derek Blasberg, Jason Binn, David Chines, Douglas Marshall, Helen Lee Schifter, Jennifer Creel, Daniel Lalonde, and Renata Merriam, to name just a few. More»
