On Saturday, Paper Magazine hosted a dinner in honor of Pedro Almodovar, Penelope Cruz and their latest film, “Broken Embraces.” At the brand new Casa Lever (scheduled to open this week), the director and starlette sat with Paper’s Peter Davis and Mickey Boardman, the latter also celebrating his birthday. Diners including Madonna, Debbie Harry, Ruben and Isabel Toledo, Cynthia Rowley, Luigi Tadini and Patrick McMullan enjoyed a set menu including parmesan risotto and swordfish to fete the flick, which closed this year’s New York Film Festival. Fans of fashion celebrated their independence early this year at Samantha Thavasa , where Q Magazine and Tinsley Mortimer hosted a cocktail party in celebration of the holiday. New York celebrated gay pride yesterday with the parade during the day and parties all over the city during the evening. I played co-host to probably the only party where the guests kept their shirts on. The party was called Pride and was presented by Mr. Patrick Duffy, along with media sponsor Interview Magazine and liquor sponsor Belvedere vodka. More»

Last night, the dreary skies couldn’t keep our NYC socials from trying to save our beautiful rivers.  Riverkeeper’s Amanda Hearst and Luigi Tadini welcomed friends to”BLUE” - A Junior Council Soiree Event to Benefit Riverkeeper on the rooftop of the Empire Hotel (where the Hudson would have been visible, had the weather cooperated).  Riverkeeper Organization has been protecting the ecological integrity of the Hudson River and it’s tributaries, and safeguarding the drinking water of NYC for over 40 years.

Savvy branding proficients Yigal Azrouel, Byrdie Bell, Luigi Tadini, Mickey Boardman, Matthew Modine and DJs Andrew Andrew listened to tunes while viewing an art installation focused on things America at the (appropriately) patriotic co-host Tommy Hilfiger’s West Broadway store. Spring is officially here. So sayeth the hottest young members of the NYC social set. Because when Luigi Tadini and Amanda Hearst are in charge, everything becomes official. Even Seasons. Last night, the two brought together some of their friends to toast spring with Dom Perignon at Goldbar. And, besides the reward of running into all of their old friends who have all come out of hibernation, guests were in for a real treat with both Richards sister’s on the DJ booth and live performers keeping everyone on their toes. ‘Vintage Cocktail Attire’ was recommended.

Rather than suffer through a slow economy, retailer H&M seized the opportunity last night to go all out and throw a spectacle to honor the launch of the amazing Matthew Williamson-designed collection for them. After arriving and walking down a glittered carpet flanked with gorgeous models dressed as sailors saluting you, all were escorted aboard a luxury yacht docked at the South Street Seaport. The interior was decked out to a theme that can only be regarded as “a shimmering Copacabana on The Loveboat”, and that’s an understatement.
