The trend of models being something other than wealthy, mute clothes hangers is established enough to have spawned a PR agency aimed squarely at the fashion-turned-entertainer crowd. And there’s no one better to launch it than soon-to-be Mr. Marc Jacobs, Lorenzo Martone. More»

Last night, Marc Jacobs and Daphne Guinness hosted a party in honor of NARS Cosmetic’s 15th anniversary, which coincides with the publication of Francois Nars’ newest book, “15 x 15″, a collection of photographs taken by the make-up mogul himself. Jacobs and Guinness both appear in the book, along with Olivier Theyskens and Amanda Lepore, who both attended the event. More»

[Lydia Hearst gets the final touches before the Marc Bouwer virtual runway shoot] Want to be a model of Lydia Hearst type stature? Well, we’ve got some tips for you straight from the socialite’s mouth. Because Lydia Hearst is no stranger to modeling, and while the heiress and socialite may be most currently known for her topless shoot in this past May’s GQ Italia, one can not forget her many past campaigns and runway shows. We caught up with the blond bombshell while preparing for Marc Bouwer’s virtual runway show to talk about not only her busy schedule for New York Fashion Week, but what her plans were for after, London this week, her Birthday (it was Saturday), and some advice for fashion show goers… More»

Running from one show to the next, and party hopping can take a toll on a girl (or a boy!). So how did Rachelle, Douglas Marshall and I do it all week? Sorry, no magic spells to share with you, but we can let you know what we brought around in our bags all week to get us through the madness. Between the three of us, we think we should have you pretty much covered. Just in case you find yourself in a bind come FW Fall ‘10. See ya in February! Last night, Paper Magazine’s 25th Anniversary at the New York Public Library set the bar incredibly high for all ensuing parties this week. Everyone was there. No, really: EVERYONE. Was there. Kanye West? Check. Liza Minelli, Queen Latifah, and Betsey Johnson? Check, check and check. Even Hansen was there, and they haven’t made it out to a party since, like, 1997. More story below. More»

25,000, now that’s a big number. It is shocking to learn that is the number of preventable deaths of children that happen every day around the world. Unicef is dedicated to bringing that number down to zero. To help achieve that goal a benefit was held last night at the Gates for Unicef’s Next Generation Initiative. More»

[All photos by JONATHON ZIEGLER for PMc]. Last night, Unicef launched the “Next Generation,” bringing in some of the city’s most dynamic young professionals. Lydia Hearst, Jenna Bush, Lauren Bush, David Lauren, Marcus Samuelson and Josh Madden were among the guests gathered at the Gates to support the org’s mission to save, protect and improve the lives of children around the world. After enjoying Crumbs cupcakes, the young and well-heeled danced the evening away in celebration of doing good. More»

Lydia HearstLooking through the pictures from the Guess’s SoHo boutique opening party, we had the bright idea of comparing some of the partiers’ fashion sensibilities, with commentary a la Fug Girls. While we’re not experts in sartorial matters, we decided we’d pit some of the red carpet posers against one another and rate them on their facial expression, ensemble, and pose. There were lots of posed pictures. Click through to see who wins in each of these three parings: Lydia Hearst vs. Paula Garces, Marc Bouwer vs. Phillip Bloch, and Selita Ebanks vs. Jessica Joffe. Michelle Trachtenberg[Michelle Trachtenberg surveys the wares. Photo by Michael Loccisano for Getty] While we Guest of a Guesters were busy strolling around Cole Haan’s uptown boutique last night, the Guess kids went down south to celebrate the opening of their flagship SoHo boutique. Former child spy Michelle Trachtenberg hosted Guess’s mini-gala in conjunction with Marie Claire magazine — which strikes me a mishmash of “brand” partners, but what the hell do I know about marketing. Anyway. A number of fashionable notables turned up: among them were Victoria’s Secret angel Selita Ebanks and our BFFL/golfette Stephanie Wei. More»

Lydia Hearst[Lydia on the cover of Driven Magazine this month] As Lydia Hearst turns over for budding actor/singer Miles Fisher.  Fisher just released an entertaining video for his new cover of This Must Be The Place, by the Talking Heads.   This song of course was an integral part of the Wall Street soundtrack .  Fisher draws upon this classic tune, to create a homage to American Psycho and his apparent penchant for the 80’s. Loyal readers will perhaps notice heiress and socialite Lydia Hearst engaging in a steamy ménage a trois with Mr. Fisher and Charlotte Kidd.  Fisher does a solid job of touching upon most of the memorable scenes in American Psycho…..
