Marquee, Marquee....It's been ages since I've been to Marquee, and yet, is the club that we will all (like it or not) most likely be referring to as "the Studio 54 of our time" to our children. Sure, Bungalow started the block, but no way you are going to find 3 DJ's and a mix of hipsters and clubsters on a Tuesday night dancing on the tables there. Designed by a favorite of ours, with an infamous door man that set the bar high, Marquee may be old, but it's not irrelevant...YET. If you weren't one of the 1,572 people that received the above invitation on Facebook via the Bloc Group, you are now aware that Ashlee Simpson is holding her record release party at Marquee tonight. She will even be there. BF Pete Wentz will most likely be there as well where they will stay for 20 minutes of photo opts and then proceed on to his joint, Angels and Kings. It's funny because recieving this invite reminds me why I haven't been to Marquee in a long time...it's such a pain at the door, not necessarily getting in, but even GETTING UP to the doorman to get in. There are 1,572 on just the Facebook invite, from just one set of promoters. Even if the Bloc Group is the main promoters of the night, there are more stragglers coming from all over. Well, the capacity at Marquee is 600. You do the math. On the other hand, as of yet, there are only 114 confirmed guests. Ouch.
