Nate Silver pores over polls like Emily Brill pores over her diary. Today, he examines what people really think about global warming. Basically they really don’t care. [FiveThirtyEight]
Miss USA runner-up Carrie Prejean is set to make headlines with something other than her anti-gay marriage comments. Her grandmother confirmed that the beauty queen has been casually dating Olympian Michael Phelps. [Radar Online]
OMFG look who made it on TMI Weekly!Adrien Field, Mary Rambin’s new gay boyfriend! You knew it was only a matter of time right? Okay, maybe you didn’t. For those of you that are lost here’s the gist:
Julia Allison is in love with cameras. Also, shes in love with her girlfriends (girl!). So, she started TMI weekly (get it: “Too Much Information“) with her very bffs Meghan Asha (the “tech” part to the trio), and Mary Rambin (the “fashion expert”). Except, as all trainwrecks soap operas tend to do, things got complicated. See there’s this site that documents their really interesting daily lives called NonSociety. More »
Guiding Light may have been canceled after approximately 100 years, but no worries, if you’re craving some soap-opera drama you can always count on the girls over at NonSociety to dish it up for free…and you don’t even have to skip work to catch the fun. Only weeks after the day the earth stood still (aka the departure of Mary Rambin), it looks like Julia “Big Tweets” Allison has already found her replacement. Krystal Kahler was Julia’s first roommate in NYC (cute). Word isn’t out yet on whether or not she will be taking over the “Style Blogger” role at NonSociety, or if she will join the traveling circus at all, but we can’t imagine her bosses over at Advent Capital Management would care right? Afterall the markets suck and watching them will only make you blue in the face. More »
We can’t get enough of Larry David, but can his “Curbed” along with that first popular show of his return our country back to its glory days? [EW]
So all of Julia Allison’s exes make millions as soon as they get rid of her, huh? Whose next in line to be a multi-millionaire then? Maybe a business-ex? [Gawker]
Apparently, money can buy happiness. And just about anything else for that matter, thanks to a concierge lifestyle service that can do just about everything - at the right price [NY Post]
In a rush? Think twice before using that emergency exit next time you’re leaving the subway. Unless you want to spend the night in the slammer that is [Gothamist]
Not happy? Move to Staten Island. Or at least that’s what the results of this poll entitled How Happy is Your ‘Hood? indicate. But hey, if you’re not feeling Staten Island, you can always try the Upper East Side [Curbed]
The rumormill in Twitterville has been churning as of late, with rumors of a departure. Last night it appeared that Meghan Asha was going to jettison the nonsociety.com fameball yoke (for greener pastures?). Alas, Julia “Big Tweets” Allison managed to dispel this by spelling Meghan’s name right and divulging their joint travel plans to SXSW.
But what about Mary? There seems to be something about Mary…At least if you look at the gofg peanut gallery. Commenters are long on Asha and short on Rambin. If you are selling “hand bag” Rambin short, you might be making a small fortune at the moment. Let’s examine the evidence:
The Twittersphere is starting to push off some interesting (pernicious?) NonSociety rumors this afternoon. Did Meghan Asha, resident she-tech blogger, leave the fameball blogging platform? Let’s examine the evidence:
So what is Julia “big tweets” Allison tweeting…? More »
For the many of you out there that are clueless as to what is going on, here’s a quick recap: Gawker love-child and internet princess Julia Allison got together with BFF Randi Zuckerberg (Mark’s sis) to throw a joint bi-coastal birthday bash. One in San Francisco on Friday, one in New York on Saturday. The theme was Pink and Blue, demonstrated clearly by the Betsey Johnson dresses they wore (and then switched up).
And, because I’m in a particularly feisty mood today, I’m going to go ahead and let you guys write this one for me. How you ask?
