No, it wasn't a Kevin Smith situation (Alec's actually looking pretty trim these days), but instead because he supposedly couldn't stop playing Words With Friends on his iPhone.

Somewhat less predictably, so was Nick Lachey and Spencer Pratt. This year's Hot 100 List proved once and for all that the men who read Maxim have terrible taste in women.
