Ever find yourself thinking, “What’s it like to be the ex-wife of a hedge fund manager?” Well, wonder no more. Upper East Side mom and author Jill Kargman, with the help of Frederic Fekkai Fifth, launched her newest work of fiction, The Ex-Mrs. Hedgefund (self-explanatory) last night, and we’re sure some hedge fund managers were at the signing. The event also brought out socialites Byrdie Bell, Allison Aston, and Vogue’s Senior Market Editor, Meredith Melling Burke. Kargman’s other books include Momzilla and The Right Address. Tuesday night I hit up Geisha (one of my favorite UES spots) for Royal Chie who celebrating their new Eco-Friendly Collection. The hosting committe consisted of Martin Dawson, Maggie Rizer, Elizabeth Saint-Amand, Gillian Hearst Simonds, Tinsley Mortimer, and Liz Walker. We were greeted by the hilarious artist-of-the-moment David Foote, once upstairs, we had to pleasure of bumping into Patrick McMullan, Richie Rich, Devorah Rose, Tia Walker, Gillian Hearst-Simonds, and Kristian Laliberte.
Last Wednesday I had the pleasure of attending the Shop for a Cause event hosted by the Plaza Retail Collection benefiting Fashion Targets Breast Cancer. Along with some very lucky guests, I got to preview the new shopping center in the revamped Plaza Hotel. I was very excited, to say the least. First off, what girl would pass up a shopping event? On top of which, this Eloise-loving girl was pretty excited to have a reason to go to the Plaza, not that I don’t love the Rose Club. Fashionistas and philanthropists alike arrived to commemorate the new complex.
