[Mild rejoice. All photos via Getty.] eBay usually gets free publicity from users selling silly things on their site, like kidneys or Michael Phelps’ bong or a tampon that was DEFINITELY used by Britney Spears. This week (Monday through today from 1-5pm), eBay tried their hand at their very own Times Square publicity stunt, enlisting the likes of the screechy gay actor Mario Cantone to host a fun-filled “game show” called “Let’s Make a Daily Deal.” Monty Hill, a real live legitimate game show host, was also somehow involved. Everyone in the world wants to know about Michael Phelps right now. What he’s wearing, where he’s eating, who he’s dating….Some advice to the girls that he may woo in the future:
Those girls better be careful. I’ve been hearing a lot about Phelps having some pretty strong swimmers. Or something like that. [Comment on Gawker by Valerie Flame]
After his amazing performance at the Olympics, Michael Phelps is doing, well, what anyone in his place would be doing, he’s living it up! Last night he went to China Doll, a new spot in Beijing, where he was being fawned over by a bevy of broads and admiring fans. And his rumored possible romances, U.S. swimmer Amanda Beard or British fashion model Lily Donalson were nowhere in sight…
Expect more info from this club, the current “hot spot” of Beijing later today.
According to the IOC (International Olympic Committee) and USOC (United States Olympic Comitte) guidelines, Olympic athletes will be permitted to blog! IOC by-laws have traditionally only allowed people accredited as media to act as journalists or reporters, however, the amended guidelines read,
“The IOC considers blogging, in accordance with these Guidelines, as a legitimate form of personal expression and not as a form of journalism.”
Not a form of journalism!?! What has this world come to? We’ll show them…huff and puff. Now we’ll get to hear everything from the horses’ mouth. We can see what Michael Phelps has to say, or better yet Amanda Beard or Jenny Finch, without having it sugar-coated and varnished by NBC’s Bob Costas. Journalism shmournalism, I’m liking the sound of this.
