If you run a boozy weekend brunch, chances are any clientele eligible for the early bird special will cramp your style. Fortunately for the Koch brothers, Mickey Rourke is an exception. The “Wrestler” actor stopped into Day & Night in the garden at Revel, this weekend, still very much the party animal despite his 57 years. Between many a Meatpacking meander with a pretty, young thing, appearances at Fashion Week and time at Merkato; a showing from this young-at-heart is probably just another sign thatDanieland Derek have done it up, right. The weekend is almost here and your celebrities are still in Paris.Kate Moss andRenee Zellwegerstopped by the Miu Miu Spring 2010 show with Sean Lennon nearby catching the Hermes collection. GQ hosted the Men of the Year awards at the Royal Opera House in London’s Covent Garden, yesterday. Elvis Costello, Mickey Rourke, Guy Richie and Michael Sheen were among the honorees. In addition to the excitement about who took home the accolade just for being a dude were the whispers surrounding a tiff involving Kate Moss. As we noted in the morning’s coverage, the model angrily stormed out of the soiree. Maybe she was sad she wasn’t eligible to take home a trophy? More »
[Kate Moss with her daughter. All photos via Getty]. What mundane things are your favorite celebrities doing today? In this especially unexciting Friday edition: Kate Moss does St. Tropez with her daughter (at left), Shia buys some publications in L.A., and Mickey Rourke goes shopping in New York City. Suri Cruise looks very tired with mom Katie Holmes while she films a movie in Melbourne, Australia. The Gosselin girls are enjoying the summertime outside in Pennsylvania, while Hills stars Lo Bosworth and Stephanie Pratt go shopping in California. More »
[All photos by Getty Images]Jean-Paul Gaultier is definitely going to be on animal rights organization PETA’s naughty list, but the Autumn/Winter Haute Couture collection he presented yesterday in Paris was striking nonetheless. Gaultier’s styles evoked old school glamour and decadence with a touch of edginess, but we expect PETA will complain about his liberal use of fur, leather, and even dyed crocodile skin. Gaultier himself even came out on the runway eating a chocolate ice cream popsicle- More »
Back in March we ran a piece on actor/clubber Mickey Rourke and how he hooked up a group of his NYC nightlife buddies with parts in The Wrestler. These guys of course are doormen at select Rourke haunts in the city (namely 1 Oak and Cipriani Sundays), and happen to also be budding actors (Though Wass Stevens has definitely gained a lot of traction over the years pre-Wrestler).
We can’t help but find Mickey Rourke lovable. Maybe its because he was such a misfit in the past, or because he still loves to rip it up on the town at 1 Oak and Cipriani Sundays, or perhaps it’s that he has risen from the ashes like a Phoenix. Or maybe it’s because he hooked up his nightlife friends (and NYC resident doormen) with parts in The Wrestler. This isn’t to say these guys wouldn’t have made it on their talent, but it sure doesn’t hurt to get a good referral from Mickey (and he has certainly logged in his time with these guys over the years!)
A quick recap on the doormen, the clubs they work at, and the parts they played: More »
Last night, a very special “Wrestler” stopped by Merkato 55 to wish Sofia Vassalo, the half Portuguese/half Brazilian PR beauty a very special “Happy Birthday!” He was not alone, Sofia had 200 of her closest friends come to party with her friends, the Koch Brothers, at Merkato for a private celebration. Steve, who is as resourceful as he is charismatic, convinced the “Comeback Kid” who was dining downstairs with Sean Penn to join in wishing the Birthday Girl a special Happy Birthday. Around midnight Mickey Rourke moved down to Bijoux and took over the room. The party was still raging around 4 am.

Who knew that the Wrestler’s Mickey Rourke was such a fashionista? He spent some times under the tent at the Domenico Vacca next to Forest Whitaker and wife Keisha. And now, a look through Philosophy, Max Azria, and G-Star Raw… More »

Mickey Rourke shocked the entertainment biz with his comeback performance in The Wrestler, followed by his win for Best Actor knocking out Hollywood heavyweights Brad Pitt, Leonardo DiCaprio, and Sean Penn at Sunday night’s Golden Globes. He celebrated his win Monday night in L.A. at Gordon Ramsay at the London for the Golden Globes party held by Niche Media’s (and Rourke pal) Jason Binn and Los Angeles Confidential Magazine.
