Famed New York City actress Allison Sarofim hosted a private get together at her home on Thursday to celebrate the premiere of her new film Tell Them Anything You Want, a documentary that chronicles the life and works of noted child author and illustrator Maurice Sendak. Filmmakers Spike Jonez and Lance Bangs teamed up with Sendak once again to make the movie, a follow up to film version of Sendak’s story Where The Wild Things Are, a project that has been buzzing with media hype and is set to premiere on October 16th. The Lynda Obst Production Company organized a promotional luncheon at the Plaza Hotel on Thursday for Ricky Gervais’s newest comedic endeavor “The Invention of Lying”. The new film, which is set in an alternate world where no one ever lies, stars Gervais as the first person to ever tell a lie and discover its power. More »

The forty-four year old mother of three looks absolutely stunning in her white dress on the set of Sex and the City 2, the sequel to the film that put American Idol winner Jennifer Hudson on the map as a serious actress. The Cinema Society and Hugo Boss hosted a private screening of Quentin Tarantino’s “Inglourious Basterds” in New York on Monday, drawing an immense and star-studded crowd to the School of Visual Arts Theatre on 23rd street in anticipation of the courageous and visionary project. The new film, which stars Brad Pitt as the leader of a makeshift band of nazi-hunters travelling through a gritty and stylized portrait of 1940’s Europe, represents a much needed comeback for its producers at the Weinstein Company. [Photos by Getty Images] Quentin Tarantino’s latest masterpiece “Inglourious Basterds” finally made its Los Angeles Premiere this morning at Grauman’s Chinese Theatre, a long awaited homecoming for the famous “Pulp Ficiton” director. The new film, which stars Brad Pitt as the merciless leader of a makeshift band of Nazi-hunters travelling through World War II Europe, also premiered in Berlin last week to mass critical acclaim. Several Hollywood stars including Jenna Fischer and B.J. Novak attended the debut as well to show their support for Tarantino’s new movie. More »

The Windmill Movie, a critically acclaimed biopic/documentary centering around the later years of experimental director Dick Rogers, premiered Tuesday at Film Forum, but the hottest afterparty didn’t happen until last night at the Jane Hotel. Even if you missed the afterparty, the movie plays daily until June 30th at Film Forum.
