EMM Group’s SL Nightclub was the venue for award-winning artist,  Lauryn Hill along with Miami Heat's newly engaged LeBron James, Chris Bosh, Dwayne Wade and Gabrielle Union to ring in the new year under the stars at the Shelborne South Beach hotel in Miami Beach. They were later joined by prominent guests such as Jamie-Lynn Sigler, singer/actress Queen Latifah, model Jessica White, rapper Fat Joe, actress Sanaa Lathan and EMM GROUP owners Eugene Remm and Mark Birnbaum to a special surprise when legendary rapper Nas took the stage to sing with Hill. The infamous New York City housing project put two of its most famous homegrown acts front and center, as Nas and Mobb Deep led a deep an impressive lineup of classic 90's hip-hop acts onstage at the San Manuel Ampitheatre to kick of the 2011 incarnation of hip-hop's biggest summer festival, Rock The Bells. [Mos Def photo via] I think I owe Lauryn Hill an apology. Earlier this year in a set of pre-Coachella tips, I speculated that Ms. Hill's set would be one you could safely miss, and I then went on to posit that Pras was the most successful Fugee. Well, as per usual, listening to me was a terrible idea, because by all accounts, Lauryn completely killed it at Coachella. But I don't make the same mistake twice, so when it was announced that she would be headlining this year's Rock The Bells tour along with a super-impressive who's-who in hip-hop including Mos Def, Talib Kweli, Nas, Erykah Badu, Cypress Hill, and most of the Wu-Tang Clan, I knew that I wasn't going to miss this for anything.
