Whitney PortThings in New York work a certain way for the young and beautiful: Move to Manhattan post college and find friends old and new who admire your wind swept hair and enviable chest. Get a cush job in a perk laden industry. And then you meet the girl of your MTV casting dreams and get introduced mid-season onto a successful reality show. This formula seems to be working pretty well for Whitney Port’s newest central casting heart throb, Freddie Fackelmayer, on The CityMore»

If you think Fashion Week is creating a madhouse in New York City, than it was only a precursor to what the Big Apple would see once the VMA’s hit up the town last night. The MTV awards ceremony is always known for it’s over-the-top performances but when you have Lady Gaga covered in blood (and lace), Pink swinging from the rafters (literally), Jay-Z and Alicia Keys collaborating, and a Michael Jackson tribute that’ll be one for the history books, there’s a need for all the celebs to hit the town afterwards (and hit the town they certainly did). [Sacha Baron Cohen. All photos by ANDREAS BRANCH for PMc]. Last night, Universal City’s Gibson Amphitheatre hosted the 2009 MTV Movie Awards. If moves like the one from this snap didn’t tip off guests including Cameron Diaz, Kristen Stewart, Leighton Meester, Paris Hilton, the cast of The Hills, Ryan Reynolds, Christian Siriano and Justin Bartha that limit-pushing comic Sacha Baron Cohen had something up his leopard print, spandex sleeve; the evening eventually revealed the altar-ego master’s new standard for shockeryMore»

At the Roosevelt Hotel last night, the cyber world embraced Hollywood (and reality television, apparently) at the NYLON and MySpace Young Hollywood Issue Party. Hosted by Kat Dennings and Olivia Thirlby, it looked like everyone who couldn’t fly out to the East coast for the Costume Institute Gala was there (and everyone who wouldn’t have been invited anyway). Sophia Bush, Rumer Willis, Ryan Eggold, and Kellan Lutz were holding up the acting portion with Jack and Kelly Osbourne and Nicky Hilton were just some of the rich-kid sector. More»

Topshop’s not the only thing in fashion being brought over from the Brits. The latest London craze taking over Manhattan (and the US, for that matter) is Alexa Chung, the multi-talented, bi-cultural beauty who is no longer reserving those long legs of hers for the runways - or the British airways. The model/television presenter/writer has just touched down from London-town: Just landed in the big apple. Its boiling! (5:28pm Apr 27th from Twitterberry) said @alexa_chung. She’s officially here, and just in time: The Alexa Chung Show premieres on June 15th on MTV, which will be a combo of celebrity interviews and musical performances. More»

[Dancers perform at Clearasil's Ultimate Dance Competition at the Hard Rock Caf‚ in Times Square on April 7, 2009 in New York City. Getty] This actually happened in Times Square yesterday. The “Pimple Blocker Battle” brought out stars like Alyson Stoner, Michelle Trachtenberg, George Hubela, and Drew Lachey for Clearasil’s Ultimate Dance Competition. Just when I assumed Times Square was “over” with the death of MTV’s TRL, leave it the the teenie boppers at Clearasil to keep the energy alive! Wow. More photos below…. More»

Dave Chappelle is back in the city for a standup comedy show tonight at Eugene on 24th street. The show is a fund-raiser for Kevin Powell for Congress in Brooklyn’s 10th District. Powell, a former star of MTV’s Real World, has decided that he would like to make some changes in the real real world. Chappelle has shown an interest in making a few changes of his own since 2003, when his Mad Real World skit first aired.
