Hamptonites hotly anticipated how the battle of the festivals would turn out this summer -- and, unfortunately, a battle didn't even get to happen. Finding out the disappointing news that the Music To Know festival (which was scheduled for this upcoming weekend) was cancelled around 4pm on Saturday because of low ticket sales was a bummer enough, but then, when the Escape to New York festival cancelled it's last day due to inclement weather, we were ready to pull our hair out. So what happened here? With the Hamptons being known as a hubbub for artists and creative minds, why couldn't these musical festivals survive out east?

So, we're probably not going to be able to sleep tonight because we're so freaking excited about Escape To New York but there's a few things you should know before you get your party on. We gave you a quick roundup of everything from setlists, to costume ideas and everything in between.

Armed with poppy melodies and a band uniform of denim and button downs, The Postelles are doing their best to bring back tradition to rock 'n' roll. With noted influences such as Buddy Holly and Amy Winehouse, the band is on a mission to stay away from the electronic sounds commonly heard today, and go back to the early days of doo wop and rock. The boys, Daniel Balk (lead vocals), Billy Cadden (drums), David Dargahi (lead guitar), and John Speyer (bass guitar), grew up in Manhattan, and decided to form a band in high school (Billy had to be recruited from a rival band). This weekend, families, seniors and hipsters came out for the two-day Silver Lake Jubilee, a festival of local arts including live music, food, and crafts.  With two stages set up on either end of the grounds, attendees had a chance to see bands perform live while sampling delicious offerings such as dumplings, ice cream and tacos.
