Remember that rush you’d feel when driving with the radio on and you’d hear four, five, holy crap six kickass songs in a row? Thanks to iPods, Clear Channel and niche satellite stations, the spontaneous thrills of FM radio seem close to joining local newspapers and scripted network TV in the media graveyard. Brooklyn-based DJ and Hercules and Love Affair frontman Andrew Butler started his career at 15 in a Denver leather bar whose hostess went by Chocolate Thunder Pussy. Tonight, he graduates to decidedly glossier digs at Lexington Avenue’s W Hotel. No word yet on whether hotel staffers will come with their own raunchy nicknames, but you can find out for free at 8pm. There were, of course, some performances as well as showcases of the photos that these photographers had taken. Sharon Stone was there and looked beautiful.
