On Monday April 27, 2009 El Museo’s Gala Chairman Yaz and Valentín Hernández and Isabel and Ruben Toledo hosted El Museo’s Pre Gala cocktail party at Mauboussin to announce plans for the upcoming El Museo Gala ‘09. From six o’clock until eight o’clock guests were invited to cocktails and Mother’s day shopping at the renowned French jeweler Mauboussin, which recently opened its first flagship store in the United States. Designed by the Rockwell Group, guests mingled, and sipped on cocktails as they shopped throughout the five floors of the boutique showcasing Mauboussin’s full range of jewelry, watches and accessories. The Cinema Society and MCM hosted Ali Larter, Olivia Palermo, Johannes Huebl, Lydia Hearst, Maggie Rizer, Kelly Bensimon, Tinsley Mortimer, Helen Schifter, Nigel Barker, Rachel Roy, Beyonce, Kim Kardashian, Rocco DiSpirito, Russell Simmons, Christian Siriano, Christine Lahti, Jerry O’Connell, Chris Benz and Narciso Rodriguez; on hand to check out Ms. Larter’s performance, where she gets bat shit crazy on Beyonce. It wasn’t Tribeca, but it was quite the to-do.

Luxury lifestyle pros Quintessentially and Gilt Groupe hosted the premiere of Valentino: The Last Emperor Tuesday night at the Museum of Modern Art in New York City. Tons of familiar faces from the worlds of fashion, entertainment, and media came together to salute iconic designer Valentino Garavani as friends and fans to view the behind the scenes documentary chronicling the last two years of the designer’s time as head of his empire captured by filmmaker Matt Tyrnauer.

The accomplished and beloved designer, Narciso Rodriguez, decided to share his creative process in the form of a book named (aptly) after himself. Filled with sketches and personal snapshots, the release of the inspirational book coincides with the tenth year anniversary of Rodriguez’s clothing line. A celebration was held on Thursday at Bergdorf Goodman’s , where Narciso signed books (and some flesh) for his supportive followers. This included Jessica Alba, Hal Rubenstein, Jamie KIng, Julianna Margulies, Ruben and Isabel Toledo, Dani Stahl, and Narciso’s lovely parents!
