Last night, Tommy Hilfiger and The Cinema Society threw a party for the new movie “Precious” at the Crosby Street Hotel. This indie flick about an illiterate, overweight Harlem woman certainly has an unexpected fanbase in the hearts of New York Cities rich and fashionable elite. Among those who showed up for the screening and afterparty were Agyness Deyn, Amy Sacco, Carol Alt, Carson Kressley, Fern Mallis, General Colin Powell, Iman, Johannes Huebl and Olivia Palermo, newly-engaged Mamie Gummer, Patrick Demarchelier, Neel Shah, Quincy Jones, Rebecca Guinness, Terrence Howard, Sandra Bernhard, Fabiola Beracasa, Kyra Sedgwick, Alexandra Richards Lee Daniels and Gabourey Sidibe. It had been nine long days since the Thrillist Mystery Jet landed back at JFK after a memorable trip to Jamaica, and all the new media attendees were dispersed throughout New York. Obviously, a reunion on a yacht was in order.

The party not-to-be-missed- last night (besides our own Yacht Rock, of course), was the re-launch of popular West Village bar Baddies, aka The Bar Under Kingswood.  This party was so hot that James Willis, owner of Southside, skipped out on his own party to attend. More»

In case you missed Spencer Morgan’s satisfying piece for the Observer on David Webb, “Beautiful Banker Yields Interest: Life After Goldman Is A Catwalk,” I suggest you give it a gander.  If only to get a chance to see how one goes about humanizing the men who are now, more than ever, lost in translation; or at least one of them. (HINT: they are so lost that they think hanging out with Neel Shah is hip, can you imagine)?!  My critique lies in the fact that we are supposed to believe it’s RARE to have a young, good looking guy in finance playing up his “artsy-ness.”  More»

So our friend Julia Allison (in photo with her adorable and stylish grandmother), has been blogging up a storm about “Wife Fluffers” (you know the girls that are the last in line to date a guy before he marries the immediate next catch, the “pre-wife coach” as Momster Allison calls them).  Poor Julia claims she has been a “wife fluffer” EIGHT times!  “You should turn that into a dating service” says ex-Radar, page sixer Neel Shah.  What do you think? Would you use the service?  The conversation between the two follows:

TimeOut NY has a feature this week titled “They Need a Drink” showcasing some of the city’s most recent laid of workers and where their favorite hangouts are to drink away their job woes.  We got a kick out of the ex Radar Team. Adam Raymond, Paige Ferrari, and our favorite, Neel Shah seem to chose Marshall Stack to twitter their days away (this is also a favorite spot of Lockhart Steele from Curbed).  The lazy drinking days were short lived by Neel, who has just gotten picked up by Page Six.  Thankfully, it looks like he has his new phone up and running too.

Last night saw the last gasp (or last middle finger) of Radar 3.0, as the recently-folded magazine bravely carried on with its previously planned Halloween party-turned media wake.  The mag’s latest/last cover model, Shannen Doherty, joined Maer Roshan, Jeb Reed, Neel Shah and the rest of the Radar family as they raged against the dying of the light until the wee hours of the morning.   Old and new media showed up to pay their respects, many in Gawker’s suggested costume of “recently laid-off writer/bloggers.”
