Flash mobs are supposed to be intriguing, surprising and meaningless. Saturday's at the L.A. Times Festival of Books was only able to achieve the meaningless part. Somehow word had gotten out that a flash mob was planned for sometime during the festival, so that killed the surprise factor. More»
The Nintendo Coffee Table. Is this not amazing? Nintendo was the best. Remember the Power Pad? Duck Hunt? I don't like to brag, but I used to be able to pass the entire game of Duck Tales, and I don't care if you think that was an easy game. I still beat it. Ha! Anyway, this great source of nostalgia is right in there with the current retro trend, so enjoy the reminiscing while looking every bit the cool cat.

Set in the year 1939, the game follows the rogue archaeologist on an all-new globe-trotting quest. To get guests in the mood, everyone was given their very own Indiana Jones hat and a whip that makes whip-like noises and plays the Indiana Jones theme song. More»
