FUEL and Climate Week NYC Kick Off

Last night, the Proenza Schouler deisgn team of Lazaro Hernandez and Jack McCollough hosted a premiere of Director Loic Prigent’s “The Day Before.” The Sundance Channel featured flick documents the chaos leading up to the fashion shows of brand big wigs.

This past Friday, Norwood transformed into a summer house for the trunk show and launch of banker-cum-beachwear designer Pooneh Mohazzabi’s new JOGO swimwear and accessories line. Hostesses Ann Caruso, Alison Harmelin and Tamsin Lonsdale attended to guests including Anisha Lakhani, Maggie Norris, Tracey Stern and NAS; who perused the eye-catching designs blending both the function and comfort necessary for making rounds of the jet-set circuit. Unless you were at Norwood last night, definitely make a note that fighting gender inequality in ski jumping is a magical combination for Tuesday night fun. Lisa Anastos, Chessy Wilson, Rachel Dratch, Bettina Prentice, Hudson Morgan, Rachelle Hruska, Gillian Hearst-Simonds, Peter Davis, Kipton Cronkite, Keith Lissner, Emma Snowdon-Jones and Abigail Lorick were among those showing support for Olympic ski jump team members Alissa Johnson and Jessica Jerome at the first event put on by Bettina Prentice Communications company.

The Unisex Salon Spreads Valentine’s Day Love At Norwood, It’s Christmas Morning For Kristian Laliberte

The Unisex Salon performed a special Valentine’s Day performance Saturday night at Norwood in New York City. The explosive rock-pop five piece group founded by brothers Stephen and Kenyon Phillips along with Royston Langdon, Johnny Cragg, and Brian Gumbel, carry a sound described as “a cross between The Beatles, Nirvana, and mid-70s David Bowie”. Guests for the electrically charged V-Day performance included Alex Dickerson, Megan Richer, Lulu Frost’s Lisa Salzer, and Kristian Laliberte who enjoyed the talent (and rear view) of front man Kenyon Phillips.

Salt of the Earth With The Society At Norwood

Tuesday night, I had the pleasure of joining The Society (New York’s fast-growing “virtual culture club”) at their first event for 2009, a private viewing of the much talked about documentary “Salt of the Earth” at Norwood. The film follows the Rolling Stones ‘A Bigger Bang Tour’ tour through 40+ countries, and has been called (apologies to Mr. Scorcese) “the best documentary ever on the band” and I wouldn’t disagree. The Society Executive Director Annie Evans welcomed guests, including Julia Stiles and Erin Lucas, to the cozy third-floor bar with two special martinis, “The Salt of the Earth” and the“The Start Me Up”, provided by event sponsor Ketel One Vodka, before we repaired upstairs to the screening room for the film.

So nobody will believe us, but we seriously planned on a a very quiet evening. We attended the TImo! event at Phillips de Pury because we adore TImo Weiland, and planned on heading home afterwards. As they say the best laid plans…. At the event we spied all the usual suspects including: Peter David, David X. Prutting, Sarah Basile, Jules Kirby, Devorah Rose, Paul Johnson Calderon, Kristian Laliberte, Leven Rambin, Mike Nouveau, Dalia Oberlander, Susan Kilkenny, Luigi Tadini, Arthur Boujenah, William Heath, Tia Walker, Liam McMullan, Annabel Vartanian, Ally Hilfiger, Joseph Ungoco, Allan Rish and many, many more. The event space is actually a great art gallery and people were checking out the art as much as they were checking out Timo’s wild neckwear.
