[14th Street Christmas Tree Operation]
Yes it's true, real live Christmas trees really DO exist in Manhattan. In fact, they are on practically every street corner, at least they were last year. I headed to the Christmas Tree Operation on East 14th Street on Monday to pick out a 7ft tall evergreen. The guys are located right outside of Papaya Dog (1st Avenue and 14th st) and have one of the best selections. I know because I drove around looking 30 minutes prior. Sadly, the Tompkins Park guys were MIA. Does the state of our economy spell doom for several Christmas Tree vendors? Stay tuned for pictures after my "Tree Trimming Party" for the finished product.

Plovgh, the new online farmers market
Who knew that the farming world had a trend? Well, Mallory Sustick, a Brooklyn bartender, works like a dog to maintain, promote and advance the online farmer's market startup Plovgh that began after noticing a need for more local farm market distribution.
