Photos by Patrick McMullan] Alice Temperley debuted her Spring 2010 collection at Milk Studios during fashion week with inspiration drawing from darkly theatrical circus performers from the 1920s and 30s. A few good fashion revelers came to take in Temperley’s designs like Top Chef’s Padma Lakshmi, Derek Blasberg, Fabiola Beracasa, The MisShapes’ Leigh Lezark, and beachwear designer Pooneh Mohazzabi. I caught up with model/actress Joy Bryant to get the 411 on Kanye and to find out some ways in which Patrick Swayze inspired her. Wednesday at the Waldorf-Astoria, Richie Rich held the runway show for his Fall 2009 Collection. And this was a show, as in with performers and singer Kat DeLuna. Some of the models were Pam Anderson, CariDee English, Aubrey O’Day and Amanda Lepore. Among the creatively dressed crowd we could find Cory Kennedy, Mark ‘Corbsnake’ Hunter, Tinsley Mortimer, Ice T, Angie Everhart and more.

This week marked the debut of Adidas‘ SLVR Label, a line of sportswear which will now have its own stand-alone store in Soho. Leigh Lezark (dressed appropriately in silver) showed up for the opening night gathering at the new space on Wooster Street, along with Alexander Shoong, Emily Swanson, Devorah Rose and Dani Stahl.

Oh, how the tables have turned! Looks like Anna Wintour isn’t the only one who should watch her (fur-clad) back when exiting The Tents this week: stylist Derek Warburton of Derek Loves Shopping camped outside Bryant Park yesterday for the Pita Peltdown to protest PETA themselves. Derek handed out (what else?) pita bread (!) and the tongue-in-cheek I Heart Pita t-shirts to a fierce group of fur-loving demonstrators. We’re sure Adrien Field appreciated the effort.

If you were one of the designers who just won a $25,000 grant for your emerging label then you were sure to be at Luxe Laboratory for the winners’ breakfast this morning at 8:30 am sharp. Yes, Friday the 13th can be a lucky day. In struggling times, this grant is a godsend for these new labels. And they are in good company as well. Zac Posen, Proenza Schouler, Peter Som, Derek Lam and more all were previous winners.

The annual black-tie benefit at Cipriani 42nd Street for amfAR, the Foundation for Aids Research, drew celebrities from the fashion, music, and art crowd to kick off Fall 2009 Fashion Week. Guests of honor included the dazzling Liza Minelli and Donna Karan, while among the star-studded crowd were Calvin Klein, Rachel Zoe, Rose Byrne, Taylor Momsen, Mary Alice Stephenson, Mary J. Blige, Julia Restoin Roitfeld, Doutzen Kroes, Jessica Stam, and Dick Cavette.

Being a bit crazed during Fashion Week, we really could not find the time to post.  So here’s the Scott and Naeem Fashion Week Recap:

Monday: As you read on GOG previously,  we hosted a party at The Eldridge for Lydia Hearst.  We started our night at the Nigel Barker book party at the Soho Bloomingdales.  We then met Lydia for a pre-soiree dinner at Koi, where we were joined by Matt Levine, DJ Angelos Styliano and Dannity Kane’s Aubrey O’Day.  As was reported the party was a huge success and fun for all in attendance.

Tuesday: found us at a hospital for a sick friend until nearly midnight.  After being in a hospital for that long, neither of us had it in us to make any fashion parties.

The Fader Magazine, The Barterhouse, and Anonymous Gallery hosted the Spring/Summer ‘09 menswear showing of Kesh last Friday night with the help of tunes by the funk-tastic duo Chromeo along with Marcus Udagawa. Both as a designer and a DJ, KESH, straight from the UK, began constructing clothing in her early teens. Her unique designs eventually inspired a following by some of the music industries superstars including Mariah Carey, Kanye West, Lupe Fiasco, Big Daddy Kane, and DJ A-Trak.
