I'm dubbing this past week "The calm before the storm." Because although we had enough going on to keep our little guests of guests busy, this week (NYC Fashion Week, AND Social Media Week) is going to be sheer insanity. Thankfully, I've been preparing myself with emergen-c drinks all weekend. A look back....
We have a big week ahead of us. As the world's eyes are all looking towards Washington, and awaiting Mr. Obama as he takes his throne, we will take one more look back on the parties that ensued under Bush.

The week after the big Thanksgiving holiday, and we realize we have a lot to be thankful for. Sure, there is a huge recession hanging over our heads, making for a greyish "Black Friday", but in a city that never sleeps, there is always a good party every night, recession or not.
BRRRRRRR! It's really getting cold in Manhattan. We always find that the best way to cure your winter time blues is with an all night bing through club land. And things are just starting to heat up!
The week started off with a big band at the Paper Magazine Nightlife awards at Mansion where we caught up with every major nightlife name in this city. The Crème de la Crème Of NYC Nightlife came out to toast each other and we had so much fun mingling with the friends that we have made over the years.
Our favorite Uncle Stevie (Steve Lewis) found himself on Page Six, a silly little scandal that gave us all a big old laugh. TEAM STEVE 4 LIFE!
The Koch brothers helped open up the doors to La Prive with sparklers, cake and kisses for everyone!
The recession is definitely here, though it seems to not be affecting everyone.
We took a trip up north to visit our Yalie friends in New Haven, where we discovered that scholastics weren't the only thing the city had to offer.

Ted Bailey, of Mapcity.com left the following comment on our Media Meshing post from Friday:
"No place like NYC to withstand a depression! — Parties everywhere. — great post and great advice….”when the going get’s tough, all you need to do is party!”
And party we did:
We played at Playhouse with Cain LUXE and checked out the Wednesday night party at Ella.
We caughted up with some real life underage Gossip Girls who were partying away on Shirly Temples (?) They were set out to prove that you can still have drunk makeout sessions without actually being drunk at a mixer hosted by Z100.
Citrine hosted a party for Gradient Magazine and we got another look at the new space.
Olympians Tim and Jason were all over town. They met the likes of Julianne Moore and Chris Austad at the Hugo Boss awards, and hung out with their old pal Richie Rich at the Cool Vs. Cruel Fashion Competition at the Bowery Hotel.
