An army of 200 outfitted in flip flops and shorts arrived at David Koch's beach-front estate Saturday afternoon to amp up the excitement at presidential candidate Mitt Romey's $50,000 a plate fundraiser. This most beachy of all protests could only take place in Southampton under these circumstances. More»
Hipster Cop, the well dressed neighborhood watch dog of the youngsters protesting at Occupy Wall Street, broke his uber-coolness by having a little freak out (that was caught on tape) yesterday. Just as technicians were doing a soundcheck at an outdoor stage at Broadway and Stone for a permitted performance by self-described "protect band," and former Le Tigre alum, JD Samson & MEN, Detective Rick Lee stormed up yelling to turn the volume down by half and shouting at another protester to "shut up!" at the May Day rally. The question that is lingering on everyone's minds is: Did May Day save Occupy Wall Street? Yesterday the OWS movement teamed up with labor unions and immigration-rights activists to march down Broadway to the Financial District, and drew massive crowds in its path. Since their eviction from Zuccotti Park in November, the movement has been uncharacteristically quiet, and yesterday was their official moment of resurgence. What will happen next? I guess we will just have to wait and see. Check out the photos below. More»

Spring is in the air! The birds are chirping, the diners at Pastis are eating their mussels outside, and Tinsley Mortimer has awakened from her long winter's nap. But down on Wall Street, something is stirring, and it's not Grey Goose martinis. The sleeping giant known as the 99% has shaken off its snow, stroked its mighty beard, and typed into its Twitter app: "#May1." More»
