Last night, Tommy Hilfiger and The Cinema Society threw a party for the new movie “Precious” at the Crosby Street Hotel. This indie flick about an illiterate, overweight Harlem woman certainly has an unexpected fanbase in the hearts of New York Cities rich and fashionable elite. Among those who showed up for the screening and afterparty were Agyness Deyn, Amy Sacco, Carol Alt, Carson Kressley, Fern Mallis, General Colin Powell, Iman, Johannes Huebl and Olivia Palermo, newly-engaged Mamie Gummer, Patrick Demarchelier, Neel Shah, Quincy Jones, Rebecca Guinness, Terrence Howard, Sandra Bernhard, Fabiola Beracasa, Kyra Sedgwick, Alexandra Richards Lee Daniels and Gabourey Sidibe. The long list of guests that were seen atop The Standard Hotel last night included Tinsley Mortimer, Olivia Palermo, Joy Bryant, Amanda Hearst, Lauren Santo Domingo, Lake Bell, Lydia Hearst, Ashley Madekwe, Theodora Richards, Joey Jalleo, Lykke Li, Nicky Hilton, Derek Blasberg, Coco Rocha, Ally Hilfiger, Bill Donovan, and Majorie Gubelmann. Relieved that the Fashion Week Insanity that took over NYC last week is finally over? Well, skip over this post. Because Fashion Week is just beginning for our friends over in London, and some of our favorite New York characters (like Olivia Palermo, left) headed across the pond for round two of fashion insanity. How do they get through not one but TWO fashion weeks back to back?! Thankfully, we didn’t actually have to book our own tickets to keep up on all of London Fashion Week gossip. Last night, Longchamp and Elle hosted a performance by pianist Eldar at the uptown store to benefit the Kipton Art Foundation. The charity namesake was there with Olivia Palermo, Kelly Cutrone, Anisha Lakhani, Kimberly Guilfoyle Villency, Anne Slowey, Chessy Wilson, Zev Eisenberg, Scott Buccheit, Robert Fowler, Whitney Port, Minnie Mortimer, Stephen Gaghan and Maggie Rizer; a group who will maintain very busy schedules over the next two weeks as tent time arrives in Bryant Park. The guests relaxed with the contemporary jazz tracks, a glimpse of the musician’s recently released “Virtue” album.
