In what was no doubt the biggest assembly of Fashion A Listers since Fashion Week, The Fashion Group International’s “Night Of Stars” proved to be just that. Michael Kors, Fern Mallis, Dita von Teese, Iman, Mary J.Blige, James Franco, Tommy Hilfiger, Jon Bon Jovi, Oscar De La Renta, Grace Coddington, Aerin Lauder, Emmy Rossum, Hamish Bowles, Vera Wang and Andre Leon Talley all gathered Cipriani Wall Street to honor oustanding individuals in the world of Fashion. Also in attendance was a very demure Gwen Stefani, whose face is so drastically changed with softer makeup we weren’t sure it was even her. More photos below.. More»

Just this month, Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke said the recession is probably over. This picture of a ready auction bidder at last night’s New Yorkers for Children gala might be just the sign we needed to relax. New Yorkers like going out. We also like spending. Let’s bring in fall’s fierce event calendar, and do it up like we used to, before this bleak finance anxiety cast a shadow on our usually bustling city. But to make sure you get the best coverage of the biggest names, we’re going to help you out a bit - because we don’t want you to be the last to know when everyone is gabbing around the water cooler about who took who’s front row seat, now do we?… More»

Despite an injured knee, day 3 of the US Open proved to be a good day for all-star tennis player Venus Williams, who defeated American opponent Bethanie Mattek-Sands. Among the others celebrating were Gael Monfils of France, and Aleksandra Wozniak of Canada, who must now play against Italian Flavia Pennetta (see below). Meanwhile Marat Safin, who played against Pete Sampras and won the US Open in 2000, played his last match, losing to Jurgen Melzer. More»
[Picture via WWD] “From Blogs to Twitter Fashion World Rushes to Tap Into Social Media” read WWD’s cover this morning. Usually one of my top sources for fashion news, I was gravely disappointed to see that their leading story was something anyone with a laptop, an email address, and who knows how to type a sentence in 140 characters or less has known for quite some time. They did, however, further break down what companies are succeeding from entering the blogosphere instead of just informing us on fun facts More»

Our favorite, however, was P.Diddy. Although he didn’t take home any award, he was still a winner in our book as the suave host of the after party at Marquee where our favorite party girl Tinsley apparently got down and dirty with singer Aubrey O’Day and DJ Cassidy.
