Daily Style Phile: Tim Garcia May Work For Marc Jacobs, But He’s Making Chanel’s Ankle Pouch The Hottest Accessory Of The Season!
Go HERE for more GofG photos of Tim Garcia!
Tim Garcia, the head of PR for Marc Jacob’s men division got some attention from Page Six yesterday when they picked fun at his newest fashion accessory: his ankle bracelet. Apparently his friends back home in the Philippines need to keep an eye on Tim while his father, Major General Carlos F. Garcia sorts out charges of stealing $6.2 million in public funds.
A Major Plunger? More like major Bummer. This issue with the Philippines, and the little ankle bracelet they are forcing him to wear, is hardly going to keep Tim from staying up on his fashion. More story and photos below… More»
John Demsey Hosts Party For Paula Froelich And Her Fiction Debut Of “Mercury In Retrograde”
[Paula Froelich. All photos by JIMI CELESTE for PMc.] Last night John Demsey, Chairman of MAC Cosmetics, threw a party at his Upper East Side townhouse in honor of Page Six gossip writer Paula Froelich’s new book, “Mercury In Retrograde.” “Mercury In Retrograde” sounds a bit like a mix between “Sex in the City” and “Friends,” apparently telling the story of three successful and, of course, social New York ladies who all reside in a Soho building together. We’re sure Froelich’s own experiences and her years observing the women out on the town will no doubt provide for some entertaining reading. More story and photos below… More»
Our post on socialite Paul Johnson-Calderon stealing a purse from the Eldridge last Friday has almost 100 comments on it-and this is after the ones we have moderated for being too defamatory. It has also consistently been a top hit post each day. Today, the post showed up in the NY Post’s Page Six. Even Kristian Laliberte has written on the issue for ASW. Lesson learned: stealing is bad. Add in the fact that we are in the biggest recession of our lives and that it’s a NYC SOCIALITE, and we’ve got a definite BUZZ issue on our hands. We predict that the days of free giveaways to celebrities and the micro-famous is nearing its end.
Page Six recently put together their picks for the top 50 Hottest New York City Bachelors, and while we agreed with some of their choices, there were those who were in fact, not bachelors, and others who left us scratching our heads (also there wasn’t a single gay man on the list!) We thought of a few they left out who would make excellent dates this Valentine’s Day and who belong on the list of Top Hottest Bachelors In New York City.

This social scenester aka “The King of Bow Ties” gets our list started for his classic style that has yet to falter and because who wouldn’t want to replace Jules Kirby as this fashion stud’s arm candy?
For our next bachelor, only the youthful dames need apply. Our favorite king of the nightlife and master of charm, Steve Lewis, likes them young because in case you didn’t know, “you can buy them a gift for 300 bucks, and they think you’re P. Diddy”.

Page Six Magazine ran a piece this Sunday about NYC’s Doorman titled “Barbarians at the Gate.” I gave my two cents on Wass Stevens and the door at Bea. Here’s what they printed:
Wass Stevens, “ageless”
Club: Marquee (289 10th Ave. at 27th St.)
The scene: After five years, Marquee “is the one mega-club that’s lasted,” says Rachelle Hruska, editor of nightlife blog GuestofaGuest.com, adding that much of that success comes down to Wass. “He’s a great New York character and people want to be where he is. He brings style to the scene,” she says of the Bensonhurst, Brooklyn, native, who got his start 24 years ago at legendary club the Palladium.
After that big press fight that our friend Lydia Hearst had with Page Six Magazine (in which, we thought she was quite the sport about), our other friend Liam McMullan took over right where she left off. This week, let’s take a quick look at his “Scenester Diaries”:
He starts by rehashing some Milky parties. Tying in the Timo neckwear line (at Milk Studios) with a movie premiere (”Milk” about Harvey Milk) and his dad’s love of Milk at night into his column (CLEVER LIAM!)

MAC Cosmetics and Page Six celebrated Fashion Week Tuesday with a concert by our favorite homeless Glam Rock band Semi Precious Weapons at Rebel. It seems everyone attending got a turn on the red carpet, along with guests that included singer Drew Seeley from High School Musical, Lee Tergersen and Alexander Skarsgard of “Generation Kill”, songstress Rachel Sage, RJ LaSasso, singers Anane and Tina Sugandh, the stars of HBO’s True Blood and MTV’s Real World, The New York Dolls’ Steve Conte, Whitney from Top Model, and the even the “new” Izzy Gold!

We heard all about the exciting shoot that Stephanie Wei undertook a couple of weeks ago. You know, the one where she got to lie across Gossip Girl hottie Ed Westwick? Over breakfast at the “Inn Spot” in Quogue this Sunday morning, we all watched Ms. Wei open her spread. The photo we all loved…as for her “blurb”, well you’ll have to wait for her critique of that later….

Fashion editors galore flocked to The Promotion Factory office in Flatiron today to preview the latest collections from the agency’s luxury fashion and accessories clients. The teams from WWD, Vanity Fair, Lucky, Marie Claire, and Page Six – to name a few – enjoyed the all-day “Cornetti Marathon” (Cornetti’s mean “croissants” in Italian) and snacked on international treats as they enjoyed the fashion (and the weather) on The Promotion Factory’s two spacious outdoor terraces.

Remember when we were appalled with the price tag of our brunch one Saturday at the posh Nellos resturaunt? We couldn’t figure out why this place had stayed on the radar for so long as the go-to upper east side brunch venue. Well today the mystery was solved. The food and location have nothing to do with it. It’s all about press. The NY Times reports today on just how much $1,000 can get you. For Nello Balan, that much in the form of a gift to a Page Six editor can get you a hell of a lot.
“A database check shows that in the two years after the gift was made, around Christmas 1997, according to The Post, Mr. Balan or his restaurant, Nello, were mentioned at least 15 times in Page Six, almost always favorably.”
Now we get it. This also reconfirms how shitty the print journalism jobs are paying these days…These editors will do almost anything for a grand.
