With the explosion of the Boom Boom Room, he is basically sitting back and letting the stars swarm around his Standard Hotel. This Saturday he had a party at the bar, well, just cause. On Saturday, Paper Magazine hosted a dinner in honor of Pedro Almodovar, Penelope Cruz and their latest film, “Broken Embraces.” At the brand new Casa Lever (scheduled to open this week), the director and starlette sat with Paper’s Peter Davis and Mickey Boardman, the latter also celebrating his birthday. Diners including Madonna, Debbie Harry, Ruben and Isabel Toledo, Cynthia Rowley, Luigi Tadini and Patrick McMullan enjoyed a set menu including parmesan risotto and swordfish to fete the flick, which closed this year’s New York Film Festival. Marc Jacobs (after showing up with a slew of body guards) brought Lady Gaga to celebrate another eclectic and successful show, demonstrating that the designer who has delivered everything from kilts to cameltoe is showing no signs of slowing down. WWD live tweeted the evening, which included Julia Restoin Roitfeld, Patrick McMullan, Janet Jackson, Lindsay Lohan, Lily Donaldson, Mickey Boardman, Lorenzo Martone, Lauren Santo Domingo and Perez Hilton, right after he spoke with Rachelle about his adventures in show hopping (check out the video, soon).
