On Saturday, Paper Magazine hosted a dinner in honor of Pedro Almodovar, Penelope Cruz and their latest film, “Broken Embraces.” At the brand new Casa Lever (scheduled to open this week), the director and starlette sat with Paper’s Peter Davis and Mickey Boardman, the latter also celebrating his birthday. Diners including Madonna, Debbie Harry, Ruben and Isabel Toledo, Cynthia Rowley, Luigi Tadini and Patrick McMullan enjoyed a set menu including parmesan risotto and swordfish to fete the flick, which closed this year’s New York Film Festival. Marc Jacobs (after showing up with a slew of body guards) brought Lady Gaga to celebrate another eclectic and successful show, demonstrating that the designer who has delivered everything from kilts to cameltoe is showing no signs of slowing down. WWD live tweeted the evening, which included Julia Restoin Roitfeld, Patrick McMullan, Janet Jackson, Lindsay Lohan, Lily Donaldson, Mickey Boardman, Lorenzo Martone, Lauren Santo Domingo and Perez Hilton, right after he spoke with Rachelle about his adventures in show hopping (check out the video, soon). Patrick McMullan himself snapped the shots of Collective Hardware’s Harlot Nights, and we think the “Best” factor is pretty evident: strange props including a very large pig torso (where was the lower half?), a general absence of clothing, people sprawled on beds, nightlife authority Steve Lewis talking to a hot, young thing, Izzy Gold and sunglasses at night…the eclectic scene rocked the Bowery (obvi) with four flours, part of Heist Gallery’s Manhattan Motorcycle Mayhem after party. Photos by PATRICK MCMULLAN and JONATHON ZIEGLER for PMc] Last night, Sally and Andrew Brunger took the fall fashion scene by storm at BoConcept Chelsea with their new line, The Brungers, a men’s knitwear line dedicating to dressing tall, slender men in stylish, fitted cuts and finer threads (like alpaca and Italian merino wool). Guests dabbled over flutes of champagne, sported neon sweaters (see Patrick McDonald…quite the statement, but we love it!) More »

This weekend’s gay pride celebrations came to an end last night with PRIDE, an exclusive invite-only party, at held at The Standard. Pegged as a “new take on pride festivities,” PRIDE set itself apart from the “norm of raucous, semi-nude, spandex clad parties,” attracting a crowd of LGBT heavyweights in fashion, art, politics, and culture. Hosts included staples in New York City’s social scene and gay community such as Alan Cumming (who seemed to be at every party this weekend), Scott Buchheit, Patrick McMullan, Sophia Lamar, and others. Ashman didn’t seem to have a worry in the world (he closed The Plumm a few months ago) as he partied with our favorite kinda, sorta, maybe celebrity Simon Rex. More »

With the explosion of the Boom Boom Room, he is basically sitting back and letting the stars swarm around his Standard Hotel. This Saturday he had a party at the bar, well, just cause. Naomi Watts, Griffin Dunne and Patrick McMullan stood out among the banquettes of beautiful people, but there is one girl about which we’re especially curious. More »
