Ashley Madekwe

Though we've seen her around before and even snapped her getting her late-night Paul & Andre on last month, it wasn't until yesterday when we stumbled upon her winning look of looks Monday night that we took an interest in what else this lady's been strutting around in and hit the Google machine. Meet our new favorite dresser, Ashley Madekwe, actress, noted style blogger and Tyler Shields' latest muse. He tells us, "she's awesome." I knew we liked her... More»

Are you worried about the future of Room 86 now that it's not Paul & Andre anymore? We would advise you not to be. After all, not only did we throw down our epic Halloween rager there last weekend, but last Friday, they followed it up with the third installment of DETAILS@Midnight, a celeb-studded, invitation only late night rock-out that has featured Theophilus London and Kid Cudi in previous installments. This week's secret musical guest? A man best known for naming his child "Bronx." More»

The "new Paul & Andre spot" opens for business tonight, called Smoke & Mirrors, except there's no Andre in the equation, only Paul. And yes, it is indeed in the old Purple Lounge of The Standard Hollywood space. I'll say that again: that "new P&A spot" has taken the place of the long forlorn Purple freaking Lounge at The Standard. MORE>>

We've been sitting on this story for months for political reasons but it's time to let the cat out of the bag, officially, since that "new Paul & Andre spot" people have been running their loose lips about all over town (and fingertips on personal blogs) opens for business tonight. Except, with this new one, called Smoke & Mirrors, there's no Andre in the equation, only Paul. And yes, it is indeed in the old Purple Lounge of The Standard Hollywood space. I'll say that again: that "new P&A spot" has taken the place of the long forlorn Purple freaking Lounge at The Standard. So what is the meaning of this and why does it matter? More»

  • According to witnesses, Mark Zuckerberg and Sean Parker got into a heated screaming match outside The Beverly over the Facebook-Spotify partnership recently (probably the same weekend they were spotted at Paul & Andre?), but Parker made sure to leave a $5,000 tip before leaving the club. Nerd drama! [Post]

No seriously, we did. Front man Dan Whitford fully put his arm around Desiree last night at the band's after party for their show at the Hollywood Palladium, and we have a photo to prove it. As you may already know, we are huge fans of Cut Copy so this is kind of a big deal. More»

Last week, I had the utmost pleasure of speaking to Gabriel Andruzzi and Vito Roccoforte of The Rapture at the 2nd Annual FILTER Magazine Culture Collide Festival in Echo Park. The band and I talk success, music business and the late DJ Mehdi. The Rapture is currently on tour to support their fourth studio album, In the Grace of Your Love, and put on a stellar performance at the Music Box in Hollywood last Thursday, followed by a DJ set at their official after party at Paul & Andre. To say we're sad about the closing of Paul & Andre would be an understatement. But at least it had a closing weekend for the books to do it justice. More»

When NYC nighlife barons Paul Sevigny and Andre Saraiva headed west, they had everyone in LA talking. From the get-go, they weren't set to last long. After a short 6 months, the pop up party "PaulandAndre" closed this weekend. We hope this means their focus will shift to opening Le Baron in Chinatown. MORE>>>

In the seven-ish months since Paul & Andre opened its doors and diluted the obscenely over-saturated bottle service, fog cannons and dubstep scene to bring a little bit of NYC flavor up in Hollywood, the landscape of L.A. nightlife has changed. Namely, it gave us a reason to believe not all nightclubs in this city have to be tacky. I personally have come to love the place and spend entirely too much time there but at least I've been taking full advantage of a good thing while I still can before it closes on Sunday. More»
