Inspired by Don Draper's advertising genius and a love for all things vintage, we've tracked down some popular advertisements from yesteryear to get you in the spirit of summer. Although these dated ads are fun to flip through, we'll leave it up to you to decide whether you want to take any of their advice. More»

Hey, you with the tan lines and the Corolla that's still sporting Connecticut plates. Welcome to L.A.  We know you've been talking up SoCal to all your Emerson buddies ever since you landed an internship in the WME mailroom, but now you're out here and you're trying to mine your extensive knowledge of Entourage to think of things to do this summer. One small snafu: you're not a movie star yet, and that $11.63 an hour that Ari's paying you isn't going to support the groovy lifestyle of bangin' club nights that you had envisioned. In their latest exploits, our favorite party kids tackle the beloved trope of the Childrens' Birthday Party. Everybody knows kids parties are way more fun than adults, who have "birthday dinners," where 10 or more people spend an hour and a half fighting over how to split a check. Hey numbnuts, we don't care whether you got to try any of the lettuce cups or not, just kick in an extra five dollars FOR THE LOVE OF EVERYTHING HOLY. Anyway, children's parties were clearly superior, and dor Cobra Snake pal Juju Sorelli's birthday, there was a cake, face-painting, some kids-style treats, a Cat in a Hat, and lots of grown-up party favors (vodka and cigarettes, duh). Hate the Hamptons? Sick of hearing about everything that went on out east? Well, there were more than a couple friends of ours that have chosen to stick it out in the city this summer--not so ironically, most of them happen to be in NYC Media. The lovely Soraya Darabi hosted a grand old picnic in Sheep's meadow yesterday, and it almost had us wishing we were back in the city...almost. More photos below... More»
