If you missed the inauguration while you were at work, want to revisit the whole exciting afternoon, or just want to celebrate a historic day for the US of A, here are some-inaugurally-themed parties tonight:

“Say Good Bye To Mr. Bush”
Your Mr. Bush that is. This ad for Townhouse Spa and Beauty Bar, showcasing their 40% off a bikini or Brazilian wax is the best inaugural promo advert email newsletter we’ve seen yet. Townhouse Spa, on 56th street in NYC, a “classy” place, accurately identified a Bush issue that maybe Republican and Democrat women can all agree upon. In fact, as Chris said, this may be the first good thing that Bush has done for women in 8 years. More»
Cityfile acquired the statements of the Walter and Monica Noel Family Foundation for 2006 which showed $169,000 in donations. Compared to the many millions of dollars in fees he made funneling his investors money into Bernard Madoff, it seems relatively small. And given the large overhead costs of running a foundation it almost seems not really worth the effort. Moreover, many of the “donations” look to be in the amount of a ticket or “social toll” to a charity gala, essentially a write off for a night on the town. Opinions aside, their giving could have ramped up a lot in ‘07 and ‘08, we simply don’t know. But what other “charitable” interests or hobbies did they have other than “giving” to Bernie Madoff? The Democratic Leadership for the 21st Century (DL21C), decided to host their Election Day party at a venue that matches up with their long, big name. New World Stages, located on West 50th Street , actually boasts about 60, 000 sq feet of space which was taken over by DL21C last night. Guests watched the states’ results on 15 feet screen projections elections surrounded by patriotic balloons, booze, and pro-Obama accessories. Guests included the cast of the hit show Altar Boyz, Chris London, Council Memmber Eric Gioia, Luke Parkin, Michael Cooper, Elizabeth Caputo, Jack Layton and of course many, many more!

So what do the NYC most social think of last night’s election results? We have been on the phone, on facebook, email, and text all morning to get some of our favorite “guests” reactions. We have several socials so far…send us yours to be added!
- Kelly Cultrone (from People’s Revolution and “The Hills”): “I am so excited! I travel all over the world and have felt embarrassed to be an American until today. I was literally thinking that I could not do another four years of this party. For the first time in my lifetime, I am seeing our president and his beautiful wife together and am so proud.”
- Lydia Hearst: “Today is a proud day for America. I just wanted the best candidate in the job and I am in full support of Obama. Like anyone I am excited for change! I think its exactly what this country needs and wants. As far as Palin not making it into the Whitehouse, I just want candidate in the job regardless of age, sex, or race. I do think John Mccain and his administration would have done a fine job but I am also very optimistic about the next four years.”
- Steve Lewis: “Taking WC Fields lead, I voted against the people who I didn’t believe in. Sarah Palin is everything that was wrong with the Republican party, and our country in general. She is a disgusting b*tch.”
- Peter Davis:“I’m of course thrilled Obama was elected and not surprised he won. But the victory is bittersweet as Proposition 8, which is hateful, was passed in California.
We hope you are getting out to vote today. As an added incentive, if you didn’t know, Starbucks is giving out free coffee to voters everyone all day, and Ben & Jerry’s is giving out free ice cream from 5-8pm. Once you have voted, you can gather at these places to watch the returns roll in, maybe with a drink in hand, certainly with other involved people alongside, keeping the debate alive till the last minute! PLUS, the NonSociety girls will be LIVE BLOGGING from the “CNN Grill” in Columbus Circle. Julia Allison is excited about the election, especially because it provides her with another dress up themed opportunity.

We’re lucky to have so many well-informed friends! This landed in our inbox, a great last-minute guide, which we were thinking of putting together ourselves, but our friends at BrooklynRoyalty did such a good job, we’ll just show you theirs:
Last-Minute Voting Tips:
- Make sure you are registered to vote at your current address, canivote.org (a non-partisan resource)
- Find out where your polling place is- HERE
- Find out what ID you’ll need when you go to cast your ballot:
Okay guys, maybe you\’ve made up your minds, maybe you haven\’t. But tonight\’s probably the last time we have a chance to hear both of the candidates together, speaking in more than 30-second bites, till the election (excepting Obama\’s pre-empting Knight Rider on the 29th). So we urge you to grab a few friends and watch tonight, at home or at one of the below gatherings. And for Emily Brill\’s political preferences click here.
