Dear Natty -
I keep reading in all of the magazines that cropped tops are back in style. I love the way it looks on the models, but can't figure out how to wear them in real life. Is it actually possible, or should this style be left to the pros?

Dear MM -
You're right about one thing, cropped tops did crop up all over the runways for s/s 2012 (Prada, Proenza Schouler, Donna Karan…), and after a few seasons of sneaking up in small doses - it's safe to say that they're a bona fide trend. While micro-mini anything (skirts, dresses, tops) are always best left to the fit of body, they can actually be much more elegant than other “mini” trends. So YES, they can be wearable for the average civilian, and here's how... More»
Happy Coachella Day 2012 numero dos! Weekend 1 saw chilly crap weather no one was mentally or emotionally prepared for no matter how well they packed according to the forecast. Me? I chose to ignore weather reports and had to resort to buying a pair of $10 Wal-Mart jeggings from the childrens department since I didn't pack a single pair of pants because I'm such an idiot. Child size elastic waistband jeans aside, looking chic in cold, damp desert weather in general is challenge. More»

OMG, Coachella is, like, three weeks away and I haven't even started my juice cleanse yet! You guys stopped eating solid foods already, right? Seriously though, don't do that. Bad idea to fast/go on a liquid diet at all before your weekend in the desert because your friends will hate you for fainting during the M83 set, not to mention it's generally terrible for your health. Please eat something, only hummingbirds can exist solely on juice, but you're a human. Yes you are! Hopefully one who will be heading to the desert in a few short weeks and we know how important it is that you hit the shows, parties and what have you in style. That's why Dena Silver put together this super comprehensive guide to Coachella weekend looks. More»
Flames and 50s inspired tailfins at Prada, coral-shaped heels at Chanel and flamboyant ethnic patterns as well as cheerful colors everywhere else - Spring 2012 is an extremely color- and playful shoe season. So, after this outburst of anything goes, what is Fall/Winter 2012/13 going to look like? With New York and London Fashion Weeks come and gone, we are in the midst of Fashion Month, one of the busiest times of year for Moda Operandi, the year-old premier hot-off-the-runway pre-order service that brings designer collections to the doorsteps of clients months before they're available anywhere else. Founded by fashion world luminaries Lauren Santo Domingo and Aslaug Magnusdottir, the company has grown into somewhat of an ensemble dream team of fashion's hippest, elite tastemakers based out of New York City. Despite the unrelenting chaos this time of year brings, the Moda ladies took some time for our questions and talked fashion with GofG L.A. More»

“Is she really coming?” was the question on everyone’s lips Saturday night at the Guggenheim’s Maurizio Cattelan: All closing ceremony. “Is she really coming?” was the question on everyone’s lips Saturday night at the Guggenheim’s Maurizio Cattelan: All closing ceremony. The “she” in question, Ms. Courtney Love, was to be the grand finale in “The Last Word,” an evening of performances by 30-something artists, entertainers, and scholars in celebration (and in mourning) of Mr. Cattelan’s retirement from the art world. Each participant was tasked with an assignment: give a presentation on “the end,” a concept open to interpretation, and begin said presentation with an epitaph of their own choosing. Ghastly, right? Yet somehow, right up Ms. Love’s alley, who did indeed arrive and surprise with a remarkably poised and intelligent reflection on life and death in the world of showbiz. Check out the highlights of the event... More»
