Last night, Santiago Barberi Gonzalez hosted a dinner at the Nancy Gonzalez showroom to celebrate Pamela Golbin’s new book on Madeleine Vionnet. A fashion-minded group including Vogue’s Hamish Bowles, Vanity Fair’s Amy Fine Collins and Nina Garcia of Elle, Marie Claire and “Project Runway” were just some of those seated to dine in honor of the author, the Curator in Chief at the distinguished (and a personal obsession of mine) Musee de la Mode et du Textile of the Louvre, in Paris. Tim has been offering tips on how to wear the pieces, part of a global brand, as he prepares to see Project Runway return to television after an extended, contentious hiatus. He mingled with the Monet team, who toasted the octogintennial with not a single, particular anniversary stone, but a room full of sparkly bling to bring in the big year. More»

Last night, Tim Gunn and Gay Men’s Health Crisis (GMHC) hosted their Fashion Forward benefit at Skylight Studios to celebrate the fashion industry’s long standing commitment to both LGBTT issues and the HIV/AIDS epidemic. The evening included a cocktail reception and silent auction, followed by a fantastic runway show featuring the designs of Ports 1961 by Tia Cibani, Charles Nolan, John Varvatos, Tim Hamilton, Michael Bastian, and Betsey Johnson. Tim Gunn acted as the MC for the night, along with Project Runway’s Jack Mackenroth, whose campaign Living Positive by Design co-sponsored the event.
