Spoon the BandSpoon’s serving up their brand of delectable grooves tonight at the Prospect Park Bandshell. The band’s latest release, Ga Ga Ga Ga Ga, is a bunch of good, fun songs often about shenanigans, e.g. “You Got Yr. Cherry Bomb,” and, since it’s pretty bare bones as far as instruments go (mainly the big 3: drums, guitar, bass, to go along with Britt Daniel’s scratchy croon), it’ll sound just as great live. The show starts at 6:30.

Tomorrow, Celebrate Brooklyn is hosting the Cold War Kids at the Prospect Park Bandshell. It should be great. Who thought Southern Gothic narratives plus soul, plus post-punk would make such a good combination? Anyway, it starts at 7 pm, and there’s a $3 suggested donation at the gate.
