Last night, the place to be was the Versace sponsored Whitney Studio Party (stay tuned for full coverage, later this afternoon!), hosted by the Arts Council, chaired by Penelope Cruz and organized by committee members including our own Rachelle Hruska. Clad in and accompanied by Keith Lissner, she welcomed patron partiers Lindsay Lohan and Donatella Versace(above); just a few of those who turned out in art chic for honoree Leonard Lauder. Getting to know Cosmopolitan’s 51 hottest bachelor’sas they trample around NYC? Not bad for another day of work. Yesterday, we spent the day with the winning bachelor’s from each state. We truly enjoyed the hours spent with these men…they ARE more than just a good pair of abs, after all. Seeing our city through their bright eyes reminds you of the magic of NYC. From the Today Show to Sirius Radio to Lunch at the Hearst Building, to the Wilhelmina Modeling center, it was quite the whirlwind. The big end was the party at Greenhouse, where editor Kate White announced each and every Bachelor as they strolled down the runway for all of us. After a week of parties, just as many days of shows, and who can forget the VMAs and their aftermath, it seems like all of New York City is struggling to stay on their feet. So how can we expect to look good for the cameras (oh yeah, and our jobs) for the final day, and night, of Fashion Week? We’ve got a few simple tips for pulling your act together so even if you’re not feeling up to speed, no one knows that you’re feeling like a bona-fide hot mess.

Last night, we kicked off fashion week right by stopping by the Prince Peter Collection on the Bowery, where we met with Mick Rock. Next, we headed to Chelsea to check out the newest line from women’s wear designer Keith Lissner. Finally, we went back downtown, to Tribeca to the Steven Alan store where we caught up with Gossip Girl’s Michelle Trachtenberg. Next up, Fashion Night Out.

Theater Resources Unlimited (TRU) proudly announces the two honorees for their 8th annual TRU Love Benefit, which will be held on Sunday, November 8, 2009 from noon to 4pm at Caroline’s on Broadway, 1626 Broadway at 49th Street, NYC. Elysabeth Kleinhans of 59E59 Theatres will receive the TRU “Spirit of Theater” Award for her ongoing generosity towards TRU as well as the off-Broadway producing community in general; and Allan Buchman of Culture Project will be acknowledged with the TRU Humanitarian Award for his dedication to bringing politically and socially conscious works to life in New York theater, and successfully using the arts for social change.
The theme of this year’s benefit is “Opening Doors” in recognition of both the nurturing homes the honorees have provided for the development of new work and new opportunities; and for their dedication to keeping open doors of communication for political and international conversations in New York theater. The event will start with a cocktail hour at noon, followed by a full luncheon. Performances will include representative scenes and songs from shows developed at 59E59 or The Culture Project, including “Gutenberg the Musical”, Prospect Theater’s bluegrass musical” Golden Boy of Blue Ridge”, “Clean Alternatives” with writer Brian Dykstra and “The Exonerated” excerpts performed by celebrity guests. TRU will also present songs from upcoming musicals being developed by TRU producers. Nancy Anderson will perform a song from “Yank!”, the musical debuting off-Broadway in February 2010, and previewing a song from the upcoming Broadway musical “Pure Country”. In addition Brian Dykstra will perform a piece from his play “Clean Alternatives” and Radiotheatre will perform from one of their radio pieces.
The TRU Love “Opening Doors” Benefit will take place Sunday, November 8, 2009, at 12 noon, at Caroline’s on Broadway, 1626 Broadway at 49th Street, NYC, with cocktails and hors d’oeuvres at noon, luncheon at 1pm and performances and awards ceremony starting at 2:15. Tickets are $175 for Premium Patron level seats in the first tier, $150 for Patron level 2nd tier and $100 for general admission. Tickets may be purchased at www.truonline.org/store-new.html. Marc Jacobs (after showing up with a slew of body guards) brought Lady Gaga to celebrate another eclectic and successful show, demonstrating that the designer who has delivered everything from kilts to cameltoe is showing no signs of slowing down. WWD live tweeted the evening, which included Julia Restoin Roitfeld, Patrick McMullan, Janet Jackson, Lindsay Lohan, Lily Donaldson, Mickey Boardman, Lorenzo Martone, Lauren Santo Domingo and Perez Hilton, right after he spoke with Rachelle about his adventures in show hopping (check out the video, soon).
