The Official World Premiere Red Carpet Screening of Red Light was held at the SVA Theatre this past Monday. This special evening was presented by Priority Films in partnership with LexisNexis and benefit Redlight Children, an nonprofit organization. Japonais Restaurant & Lounge, Marie Claire Magazine, and Priority Films teamed up Thursday to host a red carpet cocktail reception benefiting The RedLight Children Campaign. The guests dined on Japonais signature dishes, sipped cocktails sponsored by the William Grant Portfolio, and danced to tunes spun by DJ SERG. The hostesses at the party were dressed as Geishas and were styled by Francky L'Official, Weldon Layne, Vincent Oquendo from Artists by Next Agency. For those of you who have not already seen or heard about the movie Holly, we can't encourage you enough to go see it. As we have written before, it offers a good look at the problem of child sexual exploitation, and the efforts of groups like Redlight Children to combat it. The filmmakers, Guy Jacobson and Adi Ezroni, (pictured above) have been invited to film festivals across the world, and received great reviews, as filmmakers and humanitarians. More»

Plovgh, the new online farmers market
Who knew that the farming world had a trend? Well, Mallory Sustick, a Brooklyn bartender, works like a dog to maintain, promote and advance the online farmer's market startup Plovgh that began after noticing a need for more local farm market distribution.
