At the American Hotel in Sag Harbor, the personality, charm and drinks are eternal. Ted Conklin bought the space in 1972 when it was a boardinghouse, a saloon with outhouses and a cellar filled with coal on the East End of Long Island. Ever since then, the hotel has build its way up and now has its own bar and restaurant with eight rooms to entertain all kinds of guests from the literary scene to the music industry. More»


Sag Harbor amped up the drama with a colorful sunset last night.

Rebecca Hessel Cohen breezed into WellNEST in Sag Harbor on Saturday morning wearing one of her own designs, a flowing and carefree LoveShackFancy dress in heavenly blue chiffon. Layered with gold jewels, a colorful Dannijo necklace and a hot pink mini Celine tote, I was shocked when Rebecca revealed that she hand dyed the dress she was rocking oh-so well. The collection, which was first a series of simple dresses designed for Rebecca's bridesmaids is now comprised of dresses, maxi skirts, camisoles, cropped and long racerbacks, shorts and mini skirts! Introducing Sag Harbor to her gourmet shop, Pepalajefa, right in the middle of July was a gutsy move for owner Livia Hegner. Based on the rave reviews this new foodie spot has acquired it seems that taking the risk was well worth it. The name of the shop, translates in English to “Pepa the boss,” an endearing nickname Livia had for a dear Spanish restaurant owner she once knew. More»

When eating out in the Hamptons, a lack of freshness is usually never an issue, especially since our fruits and vegetables come from minutes away and fish is generally caught within 24 hours of hitting the table.
