Steve Hanson’s “super secret” new space, 675 Bar, below Vento in Meatpacking was expected to open on May 1st, but surprised us all to launch in time with Tribeca’s Film Festival. Last night, some lucky guests of the “Wonderful World” premiere got to enjoy one of the first pre-parties in the old Level V space. Matthew Broderick and Sarah Jessica Parker were among the guests that got to sample the cocktails, read from the bars library, and try their hand in games like fooseball and PacMan.

[Sarah Jessica Parker and Matthew Broderick. Photos by JP PULLOS for PMc] Stars braved the heat on Sunday night to attend the Broadway Opening of Roundabout Theater Company’s production of The Philanthropist, starring Matthew Broderick. There to support Broderick in his first Broadway role since 2005 was wife Sarah Jessica Parker (sporting a Carrie Bradshaw trademark flower–a nod to the upcoming sequel, perhaps?), and frequent costar Nathan Lane. It was a bonafied dance party Monday night at The School of American Ballet 2009 Winter Ball in Lincoln Center as guests including Blake Lively, Penn Badgley, Sarah Jessica Parker, Devorah Rose, Kristian Laliberte, Chelsea Clinton, and Moby cut a rug on the dance floor.

Last night’s Winter Ball at the Lincoln Center Plaza was the 75th Anniversary of The School of American Ballet. More importantly, it established the relevancy of the Upper East Side socialite. When King and Queen Serena and Dan, aka Blake Lively and Penn Badgley, arrive, you know you’re in for a true UES night of fun. The School of the American Ballet 75th Anniversary Winter Ball star-studded guest list also included Sarah Jessica Parker, Chelsea Clinton, Miss USA Crystle Stewart, designer Zang Toi, and a variety of New York’s most charitable, of course.

It seems that there is more than Katie Holmes or a naked Harry Potter drawing New Yorkers to the theater these days. Last night, lovers of the stage flocked to opening night of The American Plan at the Samuel J. Freidman Theater. The play, written in 1990 by Richard Greenberg, portrays the lives of young characters spending the summer at a 1960 Catskills resort. The production is directed by David Grindley and is produced by the Manhattan Theater Club. Guests at the premiere included Sarah Jessica Parker, Matthew Broderick, Joan Rivers, Patricia Clarkson, Cherry Jones, and David Evangelista.

Ye Waverly InnWe began our night feeding my ongoing musical obsession at the City Center Encore’s production of Damn Yankees. The last City Center Production we went to was last summer’s Gypsy with Patti Lupone. As you may know, the production transferred to Broadway and garnered Tony Awards this year for not only Patti Lupone but also for her co-stars Boyd Gaines and Laura Benanti. So we had very high hopes for this production and we weren’t disappointed.

Scott has a theory that it must be in Cheyenne’s contract that he be shirtless in every show that he appears, much like his theory that Sarah Jessica Parker’s contract states that she be referred to as beautiful at least a half dozen times in any screenplay.

Last night was the US premiere of Sex and the City at Radio City Music Hall and by the looks of things, New Yorkers are definitely ready for some great sex. They were not disappointed.

Our group, included Jamie Korey and Supermodel of the Year, Lydia Hearst who made her way, very slowly down the pink carpet. In front of us was the star herself, Sarah Jessica Parker, looking stunning in a silver gown. Behind us was the boy toy of Sex and the City, Jason Lewis. Up ahead we spotted Jennifer Hudson being interviewed by one of the many hundreds of camera crews surrounding the pink carpet. Every few minutes, the throngs of people that were gathered outside to watch the arrivals would erupt in screams as stars such as Jerry Seinfeld, Mary J. Blige, Eli Manning, Ashley Olsen, Katie Couric and Molly Sims made their arrivals.

We admit it.  We are absolute Yuppies….at least during the hour long class we partake in each week at the New York Heath and Racquet Club on 23rd St.  It looks completely ridiculous but the thing is…it’s REALLY REALLY fun!
