Curbed Sponsors A Party Celebrating NY Real Estate. No,This Is Not An April Fool’s Day Joke
[Lockart Steele always gets the girls. Photos by Daniel Krieger]
Last night, while we were at dinner at Lure (a Lockhart Steele fav), the man himself was helping his site, Curbed.com host party celebrating real estate. The 565-unit Williamsburg waterfront development of the Kent Street sales offices of The Edge, their latest site advertiser, was lacking on the sushi, but had enough drinks to keep the developers happy. Because what better time can you think of to host a party CELEBRATING real estate in this city? Even DBTH’s Scott Solish shockingly left Bea for a night to join in on the fun, and wearing on his best dress shirt to boot! I can’t believe I missed out on this one. Our favorite pick of their photos below… More»
“As you can see from the photograph taken in early 2008, smoking has never been allowed at the Beatrice Inn. That’s what “No Smoking” means. For the many nights we have spent there, we never witnessed anyone in violation of these rules, and will personally vouch for the owners and managements vigilant enforcement policies.” [DBTH]
Either Scott’s trying to make a joke (hey at least he’s trying), or he’s engaging in some of the most obtuse fawning we’ve seen since high school…Is this the new price of a nightlife blogger’s entry into Beatrice? For the record: no one has ever walked out of Beatrice after midnight without smelling like an ashtray.
Scott Solish And Emily Brill Have A Lot More In Common Than Just Not Being Able To Get Into The Eldridge
DBTH is becoming more “Brill-ish” by the minute. Emily Brill-ish that is. He”s like the downtown equivalent of the UES blogger except she is less whiny than him…essentially. (And isn”t it saying a lot when you”re more whiny than an UES trust fund 20 something blond?) Well they have a lot more in common than not getting into the Eldridge. Both have quite the loyal followers that love creating drama in the comment section, and, today we LOVED what we were reading on DBTH”s.
In regards to the post “Bungalow 2.0” in which Scott once again reused OUR photo (without credit), DBTH tries to devalue Bungalow 8 because of an invite he came across for a party at the lounge on Facebook (it was a closed invite). What we learn from his “faithful” commenters is that, not only is this a NON issue, but Sundays really are the new Saturdays (as we told you), and, more importantly, that they are sick of hearing about the “non cool” areas from Scott (um…finally?!). Also, they resoundingly agree on their love of Bungee. Anyway, click below to read some of my favorites: More»

Even Scott Solish aka Mr. Negativity aka DBTH can brighten up his attitude once in awhile. What a joy it was to discover these photos of my friend over the internets today. With his bright yellow jacket and pleasant demeanor…oh if only Scott would take me out for drinks again like old times, and let me in on the fun!. I obviously need help. All of the places we offer up to check out on our island are not cool enough for Scott, and yet he leaves me no suggestions for rebuttal. Anyway the guy’s pretty stylish here don’t you think?

Ok, well now you do because I pointed it out. That being said, DBTH has been AWOL, and the web is now starved of his sometimes funny, sometimes wrong, many times misinformed, and generally misguided nightlife ramblings. And Scott Solish’s vague and ambiguous explanation doesn’t do much to clarify his absence.
We are experiencing some technical difficulties, hence the reduced postings this week. We believe a Little Birdy has flown directly into the wires, and have sent over a crack team of union labor to fix the problem.
Ok, whatever that means Scott. Anyway, we hope everything over there works out for you and you come back online soon, if only to humor ourselves.

There’s a good chance that you have never met Aaron Stern, one of the managing partners over at Radar Entertainment, there’s an even better chance that you have not been to one of his uber exclusive parties, though you have probably heard of them. Aaron is often the man behind the scenes making sure that everyone is happy at the latest and greatest bash going on on the island. He can be found, Polaroids in tow, hobnobbing among other creative types at places like Beatrice Inn and Antik. He’s even friends with DBTH! (See photo above). Oh, and I almost forgot, he’s a fellow blogger with a photogenic eye. Take a look.
This was an email that I received today by DBTH:

Subject: Eldridge - Comment Requested
Hey,We have heard from a source that your writer Naeem will be working for The Eldridge a few nights a week, handling promotions and the door.
- Is this true?
- Did you know that he had a stake in the promotion of the new venue with the two posts?
- Is it your policy to allow editorial staff to include personal promotions in their posts?
- If yes to #3, can you tell us which of your editorial staff have been promoting in their posts?
Thanks!
So, I went straight to the source and called Scott and Naeem today. This is what they had to say:
Delicatessen has arrived! And throngs of hipsters welcomed it in last night. Including our favorite frenemy DBTH.
I was personally pleased to see Scott try his hand at normalcy for a change, actually appearing at the new hot spot to give us the details, while we were in Montauk chowing down on Sam Talbot”s burgers. What”s next? Does this mean he”ll take me up on my invite to come on Plum TV? He”s definitely got the Juice covered. At least 5 blocks of it.
Scott Solish of DBTH just accused us of having never “broken a story”. Well we’ve got news for you Scott! We are about to (gulp) break a story! Ever wonder how Scott can be in so many places at one time? A tipster dropped the following message:
The second half of DBTH is Jesse Herman, who is a very small time hotel and club investor. Among his holdings are a few points in Cain — just enough that he has access to confidential emails and memos send to investors.
That’s how DBTH gets all that Cain news. And why every other post on DBTH is a shill for the club.

Some more info on Herman:
*UPDATE: Cain team has denied any arrangement with Jesse Herman. They don’t know who he is.
The anatomy of a Hipster turned Hypocrite. First it was the backdating of posts that he got scooped on. Then it was the jabs in his blog. Then it was the photoshopped images. Then it was the expletive filled comments. Then it was the fake comments meant to insult.

Today’s Fame Game Matchup is between Uncle Steve Lewis and Scott Solish (DBTH Fame). Aw…my two favorite nightlife guru’s. They have never formally met, but I have spent evenings sipping cocktails with both, and one thing’s for sure: they have a lot in common….online that is. Both have been providing us with inside scoops on the inner workings of our city’s nightlife. But how do they measure up on Fame Game? Looks like under-radar Scott needs to come out of his hiding spot (basement bedroom counting his baseball cards?), and start coming out a bit more, though Steve isn’t much better.
My verdict: come on guys, shouldn’t the online nightlife leaders actually be out in living in the scene?!?
