Patriotic Washingtonians kicked off Independence Day celebrations an the Great American Festival at the stunning Gaylord National Harbor on Saturday. The festival was an all-day party that featured American party favors, drinks, food, and lots of dancing on the beach to music by favorite acts  Eve 6, Ozomatli, See-I, DJ Neekola, Lost in Paris, Maskell, DJ Beach, DJ Chris Styles, DJ Flounder, DJ Pat Premier, Horrorscope, Skratch & Sniff, and The Dance Party. The day concluded with a dazzling evening fireworks display that shot straight off the pier. Lindy Promotions’ Uncle Sam Jam and HiBall Events’ National FreedomFest are combining forces to bring Washingtonians the inaugural Great American Festival, a day-long music extravaganza that will take over the stunning National Harbor waterfront pavilion, deck, piers and beach on June 30.

“We are excited about throwing our annual Independence Celebration along the Potomac River at the National Harbor. Guests can enjoy the pier and the beach while listening to some of DC’s favorite bands and DJs,” said Rich Shea, President of HiBall Events.

Live bands that will be performing on the DC101 Band Stage include Eve 6, Ozomatli, 18th Street Lounge favorite reggae band See-I, The Dance Party, and Lost in Paris. DJ acts like 99.5's DJ Chris Styles, Skratch & Sniff, Maskell, DJ Pat Premier, DJ Beach, Neekola and DJ Flounder will be spinning throughout the day. More»

Eve 6, the American band known for top singles “Inside Out” and “Here’s To The Night” from their platinum self-titled album Eve 6 and gold album Horrorscope will be coming to Washington as a part of the inaugural Great American Festival, taking place at the National Harbor waterfront pavilion, deck, piers and beach on June 30. All photos by ROB RICH] We thought we were in for a quiet night at Surf Lodge to cap off our crazy July 4th weekend but we were in for the exact opposite as we approached the hotel/bar/restaurant/chill spot with cars lined down the street and the entire outdoor deck filled to capacity. While thinking it was safe to assume that everyone was cruising city-bound down the Long Island Expressway, we quickly learned that was not the case for the surprisingly large group of Montaukers found partying alongside reggae artist and Surf Lodge regular See-I with Alexandra Richards and a little help from DJ Francesco Civetta spinning in between.

All photos by Rob Rich] Saturdays in the Hamptons might be all about going buck-wild at Southampton at Day & Night and Pink Elephant, but Sundays are all about kicking back in Montauk with the not-to-be-missed outdoor concert series at Surf Lodge. Last week, funk n' soul indie reggae sensation See-I took over the stage keeping the crowd of surf lodgers on their feet proving that the Jitney trip back to New York City is well worth delaying for a boozy fun-day Sunday on the outdoor deck of Surf Lodge.
